Madeleine McCann: Josef Fritzl, Tabloid Bingo And Watching Kate McCann
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR (front page): “We’ll find Madeleine ourselves”
It is the McCanns’ “EXTRAORDINARY VOW”.
Any news of Metodo 3, the sleuths who would find Madeleine by last Christmas?
TWINS IN VOW TO FIND SIS - MISSING MADELEINE McCANN: ONE YEAR ON
The McCanns’ three-year-old twins Sean and Amelie have promised their grieving parents they will rescue their missing big sister.
Well, why not let them have a go?
Says Gerry McCann: “Madeleine is everywhere in our lives.” All our lives.
IRISH INDEPENDENT: “’One year on, we’re no closer to finding Maddy’”
Says Kate McCann: “There has been that much speculation in a lot of the media, particularly the written press. It’s taking away people searching for Madeleine.”
Says Kate McCann, and not Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ media handler.
POLO SHIRTS (a company selling T-shirts): “T-Shirts can be very valuable tools in helping to find missing children. Think about how many people see you each and every day. If you are wearing a T-shirt with the picture of a missing child on it then all of those people are also seeing the child and, hopefully, watching for her everywhere that they go. In the case of Madeleine McCann, the sale of T-Shirts is also helping to raise money for Madeleine’s fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned.”
Let’s hear it for the T-shirts!
GLASGOW DAILY RECORD: “Tragedy Breeds Tourism”
It is a year since Madeleine McCann vanished.
Madeleine McCann and Josef Fritzl? We’ve already had the McCanns and Elisabeth Fritzl. There’s a link? Joan Burnie sees one..
The apartment from which the then three-year-old disappeared has now become a sick tourist attraction, where people take their own kiddies to be photographed where once Madeleine slept.
Next year, can we expect the Austrian Tourist Board to promote tours of the dungeon in which Josef Fritzl incarcerated and abused his daughter?
THE SUN: “Dungeon rescue gives me hope”
Madeleine McCann and Elisabeth Fritzl? A link?
MISSING Madeleine McCann’s mum told yesterday how the astonishing rescue of Austrian dungeon girl Elisabeth Fritzl has given her fresh hope that her daughter is still alive.
Kate, 40, said that hearing how Elisabeth was saved after 24 years imprisonment renewed her belief that little Maddie may also be held captive somewhere.
It’s Tabloid Bingo! Bingo! Bingo!
METRO: “Dungeon fear for Maddy”
THE GUARDIAN: “Fritzl case proves long-term missing can re-emerge, say McCanns”
The couple had taken hope from the case of Elisabeth Fritzl, the Austrian woman whose father locked her in a cellar beneath his house for 24 years, and fathered seven children with her, said Gerry McCann.
DAILY MAIL (front page): “Kate: one year on: A portrait of torment”
Kate McCann is a “GP”.
DAILY TELEGRAPH (front page): “MADELEINE JUST FEELS VERY CLOSE”
Kate McCann:
It’s a sense, really. Madeleine just feels very close. It’s more of a kind of sensation that she’s there. You try to be objective and think, ‘Is that just because I’m her mum and I want to believe it?’ But it hasn’t changed.

You callous person, you.
I expect you are thinking that if the McCanns had really been loving parents they would not have left their children alone while they went off to the bar for dinner…

You know C, I really can’t get my head around this.

it’s difficult to say without knowing them.
the pictures of kate modelling the torture pics look like she could be in charge.
but sometimes he looks as if he’s pulling her strings.
i’ve never been sure which.

I have always respected your posts and insights.

‘Well, the Express paid out, but the Star apologised.
Apologies are extremely cheap…’
and aid the circulation too i suppose, perhaps a type of investment.

Yes; if you increase your circulation then you not only get more direct income but also increase the amount you can charge for advertisments…

Firestar - in my opinion if anything untoward happened - then Kate is the scapegoat- Gerry - he comes over as THINKING he is in control of the situation - he LOOKS as guilty as hell, Kate is beside herself - whether it is guilt for leaving the kids or guilt for something more sinister -who knows. But in my opinion, Gerry, he is definately not coming across as a truthful critter. He is protecting his image, which quite honestly is already in tatters

Question for the McCann’s over the recent publicity seeking.
1) What about M3? what are they doing? What about their conviction Maddie would be home for xmas?
2)What about the cadaver dogs scent of death in the car?
3)Why so many changes of stories? Eggman going in opposite direction, K stated cuddle cat on high shelf, G states cuddle cat on bed?
3)why read forums?
I have latent psychic abilities which I have suppressed over the years. I do not want to psych into Maddie because I ‘feel’ it will be wrong for me to do so. If it had been my own child, I would not hesitate.
I think it is time to put this case to rest

chenier did you sort orange out or did you change in the end?
—————————————————
I changed.
Orange have a serious and apparently unfixable problem with their new and very spangly software, and I had to make a formal complaint to Ofcom before I could break free.
Orange lied a lot about it…

sorry I called you a little twit.
yes, I think they likely got “carried away.”
thank you, i found that a little distressing and quite wrong. unfortunately i’m quite good at cleaning. i think you should’ve said twat though, that would’ve made me laugh.
yes, i do think so, i think a bad accident happened, actually no that’s not quite true. what i imagine is that gerry lost it, lashed out at maddie and maddie died, he then stormed off to his tennis leaving a severely concussed maddie and kate to sort it and maddie died. but who knows, it really is only what i imagine could have happened.

been more of a torrent than a drip feed though.
2 hours of it the other day.
and all so they could ask people to let them know all the evidence the pj have so the lawyers can start on it.
this secrecy law does have advantages after all.

why are panamanian death certificates notoriously dodgy or something?
and did you really get blown up or was i reading the posts out of order?
————————————————
Yes, I really got blown up.
And the Panama reference was about the guy who pretended to die, having paddled his canoe out to sea; his wife got the death certificate, collected the insurance and went out to live with him in Panama.
And then for reasons I still don’t understand he re-appeared back in England, went into the police station and told them he was suffering from amnesia.
They concluded he was lying…

Does anyone know - are the pj planning a “swoop” today (3rd) Are we about to see either an end to the suspect status or a charge? Let’s face it - 12 months down the line, what they don’t know now, they will never know. This saga really does have to end soon - for the sake of the child’s name - it cannot go on much longer. I think that the pj now exactly what happened, and I hope that then will soon put an end to this sorry saga
