that’s such a rubbish cop-out in my opinion, i’ve never read anywhere that it’s safe to leave three under fours unattended anywhere, quite the contrary. and i read that mark warner’s handouts explicitly state that children under the age of twelve have to be accompanied at all times, but even if not, what did they expect ? signs in the apartment saying not to leave children unattended ? more spin, more lies.

THE parents of missing Madeleine McCann suffered a blow yesterday when the most senior officer responsible for tracing missing children in England and Wales effectively ruled out introducing an “amber alert” system.
Kate and Gerry McCann had campaigned for a Europe-wide quick response system, similar to America’s immediate information broadcasts, to help find abducted children after their daughter Madeleine went missing last year.
However Deputy Assistant Commissioner Richard Bryan, of the Association of Chief Police Officers, said forces already operated an effective “child rescue alert”.
Mr Bryan said police would rather use other investigative techniques to trace children before going public and potentially alerting abductors.
But he admitted that guidelines may be too strict as only three alerts have been issued in the past five years

thought. They went on again about promoting Amber Alert, bemoaning the fact that only 4 Countries have signed up to it and they need the other 23 to make it work.

I can’t see Mark Warner lieing. They will have that printed in their welcome leaflet somewhere.
But could you just for one second consider that Gerry McCann is looking for someone or something to justify his outrageous decision. He is not thinking rationally. All he knows is that they took the decision to leave the children and it was wrong and it led to Madeleines abduction. I can’t imagine how that feels, the guilt must be unbearable.

What evidence do you have that the McCanns feel any guilt at all?
You are assuming that they do, but I have seen no evidence of it in their behaviour.
Kate McCann claimed yesterday that there was nothing wrong with what they did; that it was just a different style of parenting.
Doesn’t look like an admission of unbearable guilt to me. It looks like someone who is annoyed at the very idea that people might think she was wrong in any way.
Of course, the fact that the GMC would have her head for it if she wanted to resume her career in medicine does suggest that she has burnt her bridges…

We don’t have access to many facts. Just newspaper reports.
Some state that Madeleine is now 5 years old, some state that Gerry McCann is 39, others that he is 40. So when cuddle cat was ‘on a high shelf’ or ‘on the bed’ why should I believe they ae accurate?
I have, however, noted the fact that their friends and family are still supporting them. To me this is significant.
Noone could get 7 ‘tapas’ friends to cover up for them, for so long.
