Madeleine McCann: Josef Fritzl, Tabloid Bingo And Watching Kate McCann
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR (front page): “We’ll find Madeleine ourselves”
It is the McCanns’ “EXTRAORDINARY VOW”.
Any news of Metodo 3, the sleuths who would find Madeleine by last Christmas?
TWINS IN VOW TO FIND SIS - MISSING MADELEINE McCANN: ONE YEAR ON
The McCanns’ three-year-old twins Sean and Amelie have promised their grieving parents they will rescue their missing big sister.
Well, why not let them have a go?
Says Gerry McCann: “Madeleine is everywhere in our lives.” All our lives.
IRISH INDEPENDENT: “’One year on, we’re no closer to finding Maddy’”
Says Kate McCann: “There has been that much speculation in a lot of the media, particularly the written press. It’s taking away people searching for Madeleine.”
Says Kate McCann, and not Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ media handler.
POLO SHIRTS (a company selling T-shirts): “T-Shirts can be very valuable tools in helping to find missing children. Think about how many people see you each and every day. If you are wearing a T-shirt with the picture of a missing child on it then all of those people are also seeing the child and, hopefully, watching for her everywhere that they go. In the case of Madeleine McCann, the sale of T-Shirts is also helping to raise money for Madeleine’s fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned.”
Let’s hear it for the T-shirts!
GLASGOW DAILY RECORD: “Tragedy Breeds Tourism”
It is a year since Madeleine McCann vanished.
Madeleine McCann and Josef Fritzl? We’ve already had the McCanns and Elisabeth Fritzl. There’s a link? Joan Burnie sees one..
The apartment from which the then three-year-old disappeared has now become a sick tourist attraction, where people take their own kiddies to be photographed where once Madeleine slept.
Next year, can we expect the Austrian Tourist Board to promote tours of the dungeon in which Josef Fritzl incarcerated and abused his daughter?
THE SUN: “Dungeon rescue gives me hope”
Madeleine McCann and Elisabeth Fritzl? A link?
MISSING Madeleine McCann’s mum told yesterday how the astonishing rescue of Austrian dungeon girl Elisabeth Fritzl has given her fresh hope that her daughter is still alive.
Kate, 40, said that hearing how Elisabeth was saved after 24 years imprisonment renewed her belief that little Maddie may also be held captive somewhere.
It’s Tabloid Bingo! Bingo! Bingo!
METRO: “Dungeon fear for Maddy”
THE GUARDIAN: “Fritzl case proves long-term missing can re-emerge, say McCanns”
The couple had taken hope from the case of Elisabeth Fritzl, the Austrian woman whose father locked her in a cellar beneath his house for 24 years, and fathered seven children with her, said Gerry McCann.
DAILY MAIL (front page): “Kate: one year on: A portrait of torment”
Kate McCann is a “GP”.
DAILY TELEGRAPH (front page): “MADELEINE JUST FEELS VERY CLOSE”
Kate McCann:
It’s a sense, really. Madeleine just feels very close. It’s more of a kind of sensation that she’s there. You try to be objective and think, ‘Is that just because I’m her mum and I want to believe it?’ But it hasn’t changed.

Ferdinand, you need to go away and look up repeated. ”
I remember it was also said in the “woman’s hour” interview.
But generally you are quite right to demand that we should always provide sources for what we claim.

I’m serious. Suppose they had hired a babysitter and the baby sitter said “Would it be ok if I go to the tapas bar with my mates as long as i leave the door open and pop in everyu half an hour or so?’ They would of thought that was a LUDICROUS idea of babysitting woudnt they?

I have always found it odd that the press references to Kate being incandescent with rage have apparently come from Gerry’s family.
I would imagine that, as far as the Nine are concerned, they may have in mind Benjamin Franklins thoughts on the subject of all hanging together…

STRANGE THIS - Look at the Portugal News online. The front page - huge photo of Kate Mc - obviously being conforted by (NO - not Gerry) its that Oldfield bloke I think

I’m not so sure. Victims feel guilty for the most strange reasons. I remember examples where someone survived a severe train crash. She was offered the seat at the window by another passenger who himself took the seat near the corridor. It turned out to be a fatal decision for the other passenger.
But I don’t want to search for sources now, anyway I am not supposed to post any links. Maybe some other time.

Completely off topic and mind-blowingly inane ….at the “busiest” time on here I would be interested to know where everyone is at so as to gauge the extent of our Cyber-family of Super-sleuths and intellectuals, for my part I am in Norfolk, England at 12.05

Well of course they wont admit leaving the children was wrong, because that would leave them wide open to all manner of charges. They will not admit that ANYTHING that they have done is wrong. Gerry, in particular is protective of his own image - I would hazard a guess that if the shit hit the fan, the Gerry McCann self preservation society would kick little Kate into touch, and she would be left to string a few Liverpudlian words together as best she could - flanked only by her mum and dad. The McClann would be off as fast as their little scots legs could carry them - All in my opinion, of course

Now please answer this for me…………..Why do the Mc Canns totally deny this could have happened?
Is it because it makes them guilty of neglect ?

I believe what happened on May 3 was that Madeleine woke up, cried for a short while, realised her parents weren’t in the apartment as they had not come in to settle her, so she climbed out of bed and walked around the apartment.
She found the back patio door was insecure and partly open so she walked out, went down the small flight of steps and out of the gate, turning right down towards the entrance to the resort and the Tapas bar.
It was at this point that she was most likely abducted by an opportunistic predatory paedophile.
Interestingly the police dogs first tracked a scent down this exact route. Unfortunately, although it is within range of the supermarket CCTV it was not working.
I don’t believe a paedophile was watching the apartment nor do I believe an offender entered the apartment - this would be too high-risk.

Should this forum to be used as a “chat room” for people to exchange meaningless pleasantries? It seems like a waste of computing power and the genuinely-interested people’s time.

” EDIT They still won’t admit that leaving the kids was wrong but can you imagine the stink theyd have kicked up if there had been a listening service and M had gone missing then? Or if they’d had a nanny who decided it “felt so safe” and was OK to nip out for a bit of tapas and a few bottles of plonk? They’d be screaming blame and neglect then wouldn’t they?”
Only partially agree . I think they would have been cool, calm and collected, and have hired the best lawyers money could buy and would now be taking MW for every penny , putting the firm into bankruptcy.

Let me spell it out for your little struggling mind.
Its not a lie…………….. its what they believe happened. And going on the case so far…………………. im incline to agree. Now does that make me a liar to?
So your claim about a lie is just you and others ‘cranked’ view on any and every fuckin thing you listen to.
Numpty in my book matey!
You’re entitled to yours and im entitled to mine. You didn’t and cannot answer the question. You are weak, ill mannered and don’t have a clue. You can call me every name under the sun yet it makes no difference to me. You can mess us about with your grey area and try and upset the flow of opinion yet I would rather hold my head up high with decent honest beliefs about child care and honesty than be involved with immoral and selfish people like yourself
all you do garth is make me smile when you pop up cos I knwo I got an easy target. what’s it like to be shot down in flames every time you come on here? Surely it’s beginning to grate a bit now?
