Mad brother - you are absolutely right - but you will never get through to the likes of the McCanns - they have skins as thick as rawhide. There is a glut of this type of folk in the medical proffession - and in other walks of like also. The problem lies in their everyday lives. They daren’t admit that they have made a mistake with a patient, and hopefully this rarely happens - BUT the gadgets are in place in their minds to instantly deny any misdoing. Sue, sue, sue - and what do they do - they sue the newspaper. They are a well schooled pair - who have spent their whole lives pushing the responsibility for anything which has gone wrong onto someonelse - this is obvious., otherwise they would have from day one been humble. I am sure in my mind that had they come out and said that they were sorry, this did the most terrible thing by leaving their children, held up their hands and said OK we will face the legal consequences of our neglectful ways - THEN I think the public would maybe have got right behind them. They have a very over inflated idea of the number of supporters they have - Gerry thinks he is bolstered by folk from every which way - maybe the flood of donations initially went to his head - but note how slow it has become the more everyone sees of this (and I use these words carefully) incredibly ludicrous pair

my understanding is that those details came from the maccans themselves, but one can’t be too sure obviously,.

i agree, my impression was always from reading about kidnapping cases that the less details given out the better it would be. where do the details come from then ? my understanding is that most, if not all details come from the mccans themselves and some against the advice of the pj. i think the pj are right when they complain the mccans are undermining the investigation, i’ve just watched the itv interview and they are making appeals to the public for information and garanteeing anonymity even.

It should be kept secret between the McCanns and the police.’
