i would have to watch the itv interview again to be sure but my impression was more they wanted also people who had already given statements to the pj to contact them.. i’m not to sure if that’s legal.

I think it’s “yes” to both. The McCanns have to capitalize on the year anniversary AND they know the PJ are going to charge them soon. I read that the McCanns have had something like eighteen interviews in the past few days! These people are in a frenzy to get publicity while they still can and to find out what evidence the PJ have against them. I have to think this all-McCanns-all-the-time coverage will die down after this weekend…until charges are brought.

The worry is that the UK Media…have published their Number and
the reasons for it’s existance….Nationally….without seemingly giving
any thought whatsoever as to the Status of the Persons advertising
the Number…..and that it is a Serious Criminal Offence Investigation
….and what the interviewing of Witness’s who have already given
Police Statements by non-Investigative Officers may entail.

A fond evening’s greeting to you jo! Hope you are not still beside yourself with rage tonight? (mind you, I wouldn’t blame you - this latest media-blitz is enough to try the patience of a saint). I was briefly less hostile to the arguidos following Wednesday’s doctormentary but maintaining a high-profile is one thing; saturating the media with sanctimonious clap-trap (lecturing superiority) is quite another and right now I could quite cheerfully hurl (vomit, puke, evacuate the contents of my stomach) at the extent to which they have once again got their faces, comments and “wider agenda” all over Europe’s broadcast and printed media without once admitting that their casual parenting arrangements left nearly two hours for anything to happen to unattended children in an unlocked appartment - allegedly..

Nonsense….the Mccann’s can return to Portugal any time they wish
and speak directly to the PJ.
They can even telephone them…and ask.
Their Lawyers are in touch with the PJ Lawyers regularly.
The only ones who are preventing the McCann’s finding out

What is worrisome is the PJ tactic to keep the parents of a missing child in limbo during the last 8 months - if true. The Mccanns must have really lost faith in the PJ if they chose to challenge them this way.
