dr watson, i feel i sit on both sides of the fence, look at one side and see it reasonable and then the next minute on the other side. one side is instinct the other side is reason, the problem i i can reason both sides but my instinct tells me one side is more right and because it is instinct you have to keep on trying to prove it wrong, and i haven’t succeeded sofar, i still cling to the ludicrous idea, without proof whatsoever, that maddie died in the appartement on the 3rd of may. i would actually prefer that not to be true.

The portuguese may extend the arguido-status as long as they want, but the status of “suspects in public opinion” has obviously been lifted by the Express group. There’s now only “put up or shut up” for the PJ.

The following is an excerpt of the video interview done by Sandra Felgueiras to the McCanns.
Sandra Felgueiras, RTP journalist, for those who do not remember, was the first to ask some pertinent questions to the McCanns regarding the Calpol and the incongruences in the Tapas9 statements. Hi again, I just tried to post on the McCanns asking for info from people who have
given info to PJ, quoted bbc/news website.
Also Jo, what”s PTNews? there”s a translation of an article in there saying the
Ministry of Justice and a Judge will meet in two weeks to decide what to do next.
The post disappeared, so I”ll try again.

It was long my hope that behind the scenes the PJ were working on a solution. The parents seemed to play frictions down, despite being suspected themselves. But the recent developements seem to suggest that they don’t count on the PJ any more. That seems to be the sad truth.
I don’t know if the PJ is to blame, or the McCanns. Certainly I have no blind faith in any police force in the world. I have seen too many failures in high profile cases.

The Public Ministry considers extending the term of protection of the process
The Public ministry (MP) is going to effectuate an evaluation, on the 15th of May relative to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, in the Praia da Luz (Lagos), in order to take a decision on the Secrecy of Justice. The DN found that the period is prone to be extended. As it was recently affirmed by the Council’s president of the Order of the Lawyers from the District of Faro, António Cabrita, the complexity of a process of this type can make that the MP “determines that the same continues for more phases”.
For the process to continue under the secret of justice it is also necessary that the judge of criminal instruction of Portimão, Pedro Frias, understands that this situation is declared, depending still on the content of the investigations of the Judiciary Police. When there are no imprisoned arguidos, the stipulations can be extended in function of the discovery of the truth. Remember that the first one to become arguido in the Maddie case was the British-Portuguese Robert Murat, at the time suspected to be involved in the kidnapping of the child, being since the 14th of May of 2007 subjected to the measure of least coercion of Term of Identity and Residence (TIR). The McCann couple was also obliged to this measure on the 7th of September, for the suspicion of involvement in the death and occultation of the body of their daughter.
