Mummy and daddy… Are Mirror readers being asked to empathise with Madeleine? The fact is, it could. It could happen to any of us.

I fill my car up with petrol and sometimes leave the children in the back when I go and pay for it. It could happen to me.
I’ve seen mums chatting to friends in supermarkets and on busy pavements while their children wander off. It could happen to them.
It happened to the McCanns in a child-friendly, family holiday village. It could happen to you.

Just when one thinks one’s capacity for shock is exhausted, one reads some of the charming, expletive-rich comments sent to Kate and Gerry McCann in the last year since their daughter Madeleine evaporated in Portugal. I know some nutters are convinced they killed her, which I am equally convinced is balderdash: but what shocks me is that even those who accept that someone else abducted her cannot resist delving into the still-open wound the McCanns have, and attacking them for their supposed negligence on that evening last May.
I try to envisage the sense of smug satisfaction these people have when the letter is posted or the send button pressed on the email: but, despite a long study of human degeneracy, I simply can’t.

I read a Translated report today on 3a”s saying the latest forensic evidence is
inconclusive, and the hairs found in the Apartment and Car need not necccessarily
be Madeleine”s due to capillary something. If this is true it looks like the case will be shelved, but at least we will know the evidence the PJ have. I know it”s sad that maybe
Justice for Madeleine will not be done, but unless a body is found it would be very
difficult to prove anything. the arguido status will not be lifted so the McCann”s
reputation will be ruined. If they were charged with neglect it would only lead to another long drawn out procedure .

McCanns Targeted by the PJ
The Public Prosecutor and the PJ deny that they are preparing the filling of the media process. The McCanns did not yet confirm the return to Portugal
The PJ is analysing the depositions made in England by the seven friends that dinned with the McCanns in the Tapas Bar. They are also waiting that the Leicester police send the depositions of more than three dozens of tourists that were in the area when the child disappeared and also the new declarations of Clarence Mitchell and Justine McGuiness that were in Praia da Luz on that day.
Yesterday the on line edition of Expresso revealed that the PJ was preparing the filling of the case and clear the McCanns. Several judicial sources contacted by our newspaper rejected such possibility. “That hypothesis is unthinkable. No process is filled whilst there are still investigations occurring. There are still several steps to make and that possibility wasn’t even equated” guaranteed a high responsible connected to the investigations.
The same source added: “If it was to fill we would not have asked the return of the McCanns and friends to Portugal. The McCanns will continue to be arguidos till the end of the process. No matter the time it takes. Who says otherwise does not know the law and is speculating”.
A source of the Portimão’s court assured that the public prosecutor is still waiting for the final report of the PJ about the process that according to what 24 Horas discovered is not yet done.
“Without that report is impossible to take any decision. The investigations were delegated to the PJ and the public prosecutor needs to have all the elements to take a decision of accusing or filling. But from the accusation of negligence they will not get rid off”, said the source.
I LOVE the last sentence “But from the accusation of negligence,they will not get rid off”
AND the mccanns KNEW it,hence all the washy mushy the whole week about oh dear,I wish oh this and that.They KNOW.They also know something more serious is on the way.The PJ is going step by step to make them clearly understand :they wont escape justice and YES, the truth and justice will be made to Madeleine

According the the Diary de Notias (sp??), at the end of last year Kennedy and his lawyer organised a dinner with Murat and said that if Murat had seen anyone who could have been an abductor, Kennedy would get the best sketch artists to do a pic for the public, give total support blah blah.
He seems to have also hinted that he didn’t know why three Tapasniks claimed to have seen Murat on that night.
There’s lots more. But it all smacks of bribery and corruption, IMHO.

McCann will be charged: negligence or manslaughter
According to a source of the Public Ministry (MP) in Lisbon, Kate and Gerry McCann may be called upon to respond before a Portuguese court for the crime of negligence, not yet confirmed if the couple will be also accused of homicide.
The prosecution and investigators of the Judicial Police have agreed to meet formally in a few weeks to decide what are the accusations made against the couple.
According to the same source, the secret of justice around the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine will continue until August, after which passed the vacations, the MP would be ready to move towards the trial.

Chenier. Sorry. My post didn’t come out right. It was supposed to follow on with

The Beeb obviously left that piece in deliberately. I hope a slightly longer piece appears on YouTube. There must also be a lot of footage on the cutting room floor from the Panorama programme, which should perhaps now be put into the public domain, in the interests of finding Madeleine, of course.
Perhaps Spudgun could do a new video of all the laughing smiling jogging golf tennis happy happy happy balloons and T shirt pieces, with the voice over of Clarrie, and the McCs and anyone else involved in this extraordinary saga saying how they are hurting inside, devastated, family falling to pieces and so on.
It would be ‘muy divertido’ as they say over here. (for M&A = very funny)

I think that decision won’t be made for another couple of weeks. 14th or 15th May has been the date suggested for a judge taking the decision to release details from the files or keep things secret. I haven’t caught the latest on the news (been watching Cary Grant again - surprise film on Five earlier!) but I’ll try to catch up over the net.

the interference can go before someone calls HALT!!!!!!! As I said, to jass, some will be charged with meddling and I think this whole “Rememberance” thing is designed to
gain sympathy, it won”t the British will not be taken in.
