McGuckin In McCann Peril: Foreign Crimes In Foreign Climes
BRITONS planning trips to the new Portugal should go equipped with a loud hailer, a private detective and nothing too shiny. If on a driving holiday, ensure the boot can be opened from within.
Listen to the tale told by Eamon and Antionette McGuckin, who found their three children in the care of the Portuguese – and what irony there, readers – after they were attacked by a “Rohypnol gang”.
One would imagine that given the paralysing powers of the so-called date rape drug, the Rohypnol Gang are not much cop at ganging, preferring to lie down and wait their victim to trip over them. It would help if the victims were drunk.
But this gang is armed with the drug and slipping it into the “small jug” of sangria the McGuckins were quaffing, sipping, even. (Although the Mirror’s Sue Carroll sees the “dog tired, hot and thirsty” couple taking beer – mucky foreign beer.)
Says a friend of the family, namely a Dr Cyril Harkin: “Neither of them are big drinkers. They have tried to understand what happened and have linked the sangria with the sudden decline in their health. They believe they were drugged by someone trying to rob them.”
The GP puts the tin lid on the matter by saying: “The Portuguese authorities are paranoid after the Madeleine McCann case.”
We are not anti-foreigner, and are quite confident that if the entire peoples of continental Europe were placed in a cell we could find a dozen for a game of cricket and a scorer, but can only conclude that the vast mojortity Portuguese are the scum of the Earth and in need of hanging…

it is not as though the amber alert system would’ve helped them in maddie’s case, which is even stranger. it does look like they’re trying to make careers out of their ‘misfortune’ more than anything else.
—————————————-
It has looked that way almost from the very beginning.
Anyone foolish enough to invite a friend to shoot ‘intimate footage’ of Gerry working his fingers to the bone on his keyboard is also foolish enough to believe that they could make a career out of the tragedy…

Soz - pressed send before I was finished….
The amber alert is another indication that people in power are willing to give them a platform and I would really really love to know why.
————————————————
I don’t think that is the case.
The whole point about Amber Alert is that its backers can’t get anything remotely like the numbers of countries signed up needed to make it work.
If the people involved really had the power to do that they would not need the McCanns.
It is a sign of the weakness of the lobby for it, not the strength…

Re Gerry’s blog. They ask for people to do this and do that but they never actually do anything for themselves and never once have reported what steps they’ve taken, exactly what they are doing to find their daughter. They just SAY they do. Not good enough for me. Kate in one of the interviews last week asked, if you’re going on holiday, keep an ‘eye out’ for Madeleine - passing the responsibility to hard working people who have a two week holiday, somewhere sunny. It’s like saying - you lot lost her - you lot find her. An incredible lack of personal parental responsibility and a ‘please let this all go away for us but, before you all go, donations are very welcome because we don’t know what the future holds for our careers which have been blighted by this inconvenience.
The amber alert thing

Ferdinand always did remind me of bull. Knobjockey has recently bought to mind the name Garth. So those names I understand. But why why why Maria?

I can’t believe that the doors were unlocked. They aren’t that irresponsible.
As you say, in that case, why would they say they were unlocked? What purpose could it serve?

I agree with that. Met some really nice people on here, just a shame its been a tradegy thats bought us all together (or a travesty!)

I also think Gerry is showing a complete lack of judgement going to a rugby match flanked by these two-If it weren’t for Maddie he wouldn’t be enjoying these privileges-He can always say No, or be a bit more damned discrete.

your right. they have presented the so called abducter akin to a hobo! What person with these credentials could have masterminded such a slick operation leaving no trail whatsoever in such a short time frame.

Feel free to judge me garth. im in no way perfect. But i can tell you without a word of doubt that i would never ever leave small children in a strange apartment, in a strange country all alone while i went out on the piss. I know this for a fact, and im proud to say not one person i know would ever consider doing so. As for mr mccs blog, its not just my nerves he jangles, his wording and their body language and actions from day one have raised suspicions.

Garth:
You’re right.
They weren’t likely to say: We’ve spent over £400,000 on Metodo3 but know absolutely nothing. And we really need to know who has said what to the PJ.
Therefore, we’re asking everyone to ring us instead. It may cost a bit of money, but never mind.
Also, whoops, no-one can ring an 0845 number from abroad (for example, all those people from Spain or Morocco who might see Madeleine) but, whatever.

Re the McGuckins-It could have been sun stroke-I got this in the summer of 77-boiling! I was aged 13 and in Bridlington-I was violently sick and disorientated and I don’t think anyone had drugged me and as sure as hell had nothing stronger than PG Tips.
If you add to this a few beers, dehydration and extreme tiredness-plus a flight-I think they misjudged it-but certainly don’t think they went out to get trashed and ’stuff the kids’-I also think that if it had happened anywhere other than Portugal it wouldn’t have hit the news.
I am sure they are highly embarrassed and don’t need to be linked to the other case-where 3 children were left ‘for the taking’ IMO.

No, i don’t come on here to judge posters. However, IMO I felt that you were being quite judgemental towards wtf in a hostile way. I am sure she will discuss it with you should she deem it important.

Not being hostile……..but thanks for that anyway.

361 wtf
To be honest, I am getting a bit frayed with the whole mm mystery. I was thinking that it will end like the bermuda triangle, no answers, no solving, and an enternal mystery.
Someone, somewhere knows what happened to that child and how they can live with themselves for not coming forward is quite depressing.
May 7th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
What I have never understood is their dogged insistence, all along, that Madeleine might still be alive.
I do understand about clinging on to hope.
But they say she was abducted, and if you bear in mind some of the sketches of hideous weirdos they have promoted, it does not look good for a little girl to be taken in this way.
If she IS alive, she could be suffering appallingly. Why would they, in that case, hang onto the idea of her being alive?

But I thought they might have at least suggested that Metodo3 were worth the £400,000 or so they’ve been paid already.
Instead, they didn’t even mention them.

Why should WTF be judged for passing an opinion or is that not something she is entitled to?
And the whole reason we are on this forum is to question and discuss so where would it leave us with nothing to debate? Just a thought but you seem so defensive and hostile to all posters. We can’t maybe be all as enlightened as you, but surely we are all equally allowed to post our thoughts here?

Noones trying to prevent anyone from posting. I just made a point. It wasnt hostile. Wtf is free to come back to me and I’ll debate with her.

I would imagine his basis is to try and connect the abduction with mari luz? he just doesnt speak like a human being discussing his daughter, no warmth or sentiment, its like hes talking about a product, imo of course
May 7th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Garth:
Obviously they won’t say the PJ have done a fine job, because they’ve slagged off the PJ since the first hours after Madeleine went missing (telling relatives/friends/TV stations etc that the police were doing nothing when in fact they had launched a massive search with dogs etc).
But I thought they might have at least suggested that Metodo3 were worth the £400,000 or so they’ve been paid already.
Instead, they didn’t even mention them.
They made themselves sound as if they were a poor ignored helpless couple with no clue what was going on.

To be honest their actions to date have been in line with a couple grieving for their child, knowing they are dead, imo, if they were so convinced maddie was alive, they wouldnt be channeling energy into anything except her
