Madeleine McCann: Inside The Flat, New Clues And Bad Parents
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD (front page): “MADDIE”
More?
“WORLD EXCLUSIVE: FIRST PICTURES INSIDE FLAT”
“Maddie’s bedroom”; “front door” – the flat from Madeleine McCann supposedly went missing is for hire, and the NOTW has been to look it over.
Has the NOTW turned into a holiday brochure, got into the timeshare game?
Now the rest of the flat has been redecorated and is ready to welcome more holidaying families to Portugal.
Can the flat be rented by the minute, and because of its history does it come with a surcharge? For now, the paper wants to show readers “How fiend could have kept out of sight”.
Our detailed survey of the flat reveals a host of places Maddie’s abductor could have hidden when it’s most likely he was almost caught in the act by dad Gerry as he checked on her and twins, Sean and Amelie, at 9.05pm on May 3 last year…
Details. You have noted the door and the bedroom. Now look at the inside of a “WARDROBE”.
But our on-site reconstruction proves that if the kidnapper was already in the flat, as the McCanns fear, he had a full TEN SECONDS to conceal himself after hearing Gerry open the patio doors and enter the apartment.
Although if Gerry McCann moved slower than the NOTW’s estimated speed of 2.34 mph, the kidnapper might have had ELEVEN seconds, or perhaps even TWELVE seconds to hide.
But where to hide?
And he had no fewer than FOUR boltholes to choose from—behind Madeleine’s BEDROOM DOOR, inside her roomy WARDROBE, in her parents’ nearby BEDROOM or in the family BATHROOM.
What about under the BEDS, behind the CURTAINS, on the CEILING or in the SHOWER? Or in the BED?
If one year on, the News of the World found clues, surely the detectives could have established more AT THE TIME?
Clues. the NOTW has found doors and rooms. In one year of tabloid tales, much has been established.
The stillness and silence of the apartment now is just as it would have been after the McCanns left the children asleep in bed that fateful night.
All that can heard is the gentle click, click click of cameras, the sound of a reporter scrambling for a story and the trace of last night’s prawns in garlic butter…
IRISH INDEPENDENT: “Summer sun brings out first Bad Parent story”
“It’s hard to resist a little pain-free moral gloating sometimes, writes Eilis O’Hanlon.”
Like the first cuckoo of spring, the sighting of the first Bad Parent story of the summer is always a heartwarming, life-affirming event; and by a happy coincidence, the latest incarnation of this media phenomenon arrived bang on time, just as the weather started to hot up and our thoughts turned sunwards. At last we can say the holiday season has truly begun.
Normally, of course, it’s some foul-mouthed painted doxy from a sink estate in the north of England who hits the headlines after flying off to be with her Spanish waiter in the sun, leaving behind her gaggle of variously-fathered children in their council flat with only a tin of beans, the keys to the drinks cabinet, and Grand Theft Auto IV on the Playstation to occupy themselves until she gets home — if and when she can be bothered.
The Irish now see the English as the English once saw the Irish, albeit without the beer, bombs and potatoes.
The McCanns. The McGuckins.
The media phenomenon of the Bad Parent story, ritually trotted out to appease the secret guilt of other parents everywhere, is a curious one, no doubt about that. It can’t be much fun to be caught in the middle of the latest outbreak of media moralising, but it’s best just to put it down to experience and move on as quickly as you can.
THE SCOTSMAN: “McCanns ‘won’t mark’ Madeleine’s fifth birthday”
Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said of the birthday: “Gerry will be at work and Kate will be at or around home. Sadly, for them it is just another day without Madeleine.”

Good morning
“Ways to keep your kids safe on holidays..”"
“”It is always a good idea for the children to have their own funds (within reason), so during the lead-up to the holiday, encourage them to save up for their own special treats during their time away. You’d be amazed how sensible even a very young child can be about money he or she has gone to the trouble of earning.”"” unquote…

Comment from the mccannfiles about Scotland Yard and M3
If London’s Metropolitan Police are indeed ‘pushing to get involved’ then it is surely much more likely that they are doing this, not to work alongside the McCanns, but to investigate the activities of Metodo3.
Why should they need to work alongside the investigation when the Policia Judiciaria, the Leicestershire police and a number of other UK police forces are already undertaking such work?
It is surely laughable that the Metropolitan Police would seek a ‘bigger role and the freedom to work alongside’ Metodo3 - who, let’s remember, are a small family-run outfit who specialise in corporate fraud.

Gerrys blog
It has been another busy week. We have been inundated with mail that we are working through. Kate and I would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported us over the last twelve months. It is the support we have received from family, friends, and the overwhelming response of the general public that has sustained us. Special thanks to everyone who has contributed to Madeleine’s Fund, which has allowed us to continue the independent investigation to find Madeleine.
Following our renewed appeal there has been a tremendous response to both the call line (+44 (0)845 838 4699) and the e-mail addresses (anonymous@findmadeleine.com and investigation@findmadeleine.com). Hundreds of calls and e-mails have been received and each and every bit of information will be assessed and followed up. We would encourage anyone who might have information to contact us in confidence. We would like to hear from everyone who was staying at the Ocean Club at the time of Madeleine’s abduction or from anyone who may have experienced a similar incident in the Iberia peninsula.
Tomorrow is Madeleine’s fifth birthday. It will be one of the hardest days of the last 375. We will be marking it privately and quietly. We will do everything to try and ensure Madeleine does not spend another birthday separated from her family.

Yep!
Fantastic piece of news really but the one to come is even better.Apparently…..
“Yesterday the couple were buoyed by the news that London Metropolitan Police want to become more involved in the hunt for their daughter. a source close to the family said: “Kate and Gerry have made it clear they are unhappy with the lack of progress in this inquiry.”
“It is now more than a year since their daughter disappeared and they are still no nearer finding out what happened. Scotland Yard is pushing to get involved.”
Officers from the Met now want a bigger role and freedom to work alongside Spanish private investigators Metodo 3, who were hired by the couple eight months ago.
a source close to the investigation said: “For some time Metropolitan officers have been offering technical advice and helping to do things such as trace phone calls. they have been helping their counterparts in Leicestershire, which is the force in direct contact with Portuguese police and which is carrying out witness interviews. They now want a more active role in the inquiry to help find Madeleine and bring her home to her family.”
Kate 40, and Gerry 39, would welcome a fuller involvement from scotland Yard, especially as the National director of portugal’s police, who seemed to be on the couples side, has announced he is to quit.
Alipio Ribiero, 48 is set to leave three months after saying that Portuguese detectives had been hasty in branding the couple official suspects.
The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “Kate and Gerry have cooperated fully with police in this investigation and will continue to do so.

“We just want to reiterate our desire for Kate and Gerry to be eliminated as suspects as soon as possible.”
**********
Not only they have nothing to do with M”s disappearence but they ALSO have FULLY cooperated with the PJ
Aye! Clarrie, clarrie but are we going to do with you?
They dont know what to do anymore…..as if Scotalnd Yard is going to get involved WITH M3 jajajajajaja
An other direct attack to the PJ,those useless sardines munchers …..

He also credited the internet with being the single most effective tool in the entire campaign.
“It was access to the internet that gave us a boost,” he said in his speech on public relations crisis management.
The Find Madeleine website set up by the McCanns has been instrumental in the campaign.

” The NOTW has made a big thing of poor Oldfield not doing a ”proper” check, on the 3rd.
The reason seemingly being that he couldn’t see the bed because of the way the door opening blocked his view? My point is that that’s rubbish, as is plain to see. The door opens inwards, hinges on the right, with ”the” bed on the left.”
—With full acknowledgements to someone who does not post here any more —
Oldfield is supposed to have done the 9.30 check.
KM supposedly did the 9.05 check, just half an hour after they all sat down to dinner.
(KM and GM say they left the apartment at 8.30, after a drink. So KM sat down for less than 2 glasses of wine and one round of the quiz before trotting back)
But Oldfield said that although he did not see M , the bedroom seemed ‘lighter’.
Lighter than what ? Lighter then when ? Outside it was now darker.
He did not do a previous check, so what is he talking about ?
Or perhaps the question is, who told him to say this ?
If you are lying then the more detail you add the WORSE it gets.
NOTW is not one of my normal reads, but I might just change my mind if they have found someone on their staff who has started to unpick the inconsistencies, even if it has taken them a year.

How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertijibbet! A will-o’-the wisp! A clown!
Many a thing you know you’d like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sand
Oh, how do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?

Stick with sand; works a treat, or so I am told.
I’m still brooding over the marketing possibilities.
It occurs to me that perhaps you have not examined it carefully enough; can you honestly say that the cobble stone does not have an image of Madeleine on it?

Too much sun and work tomorrow.

I too am Cardiff born and bred.
And when I dies, I’ll be Cardiff dead.
Don’t live in the Capital any more - prefer the peace and quiet of the country.
But Cardiff has changed. Much cleaner , more vibrant. Wonderful city, great people.
And good luck to them in the Cup!!!!!
On topic ,

I have about my person a genuine Praeia da Luz cobblestone - legitimately acquired, I might add, perhaps if we put it up for sale on e-bay we could raise enough money to buy Smudd her own computer?
————————————-
It would need careful marketing; an online viral selling campaign is obviously called for.
I must confess that, at present, I’m having some difficulties in envisaging which section we should put it in.
I think we could rule out geological specimens, but that still leaves rather a lot of possibilities…

Englishman, Scotsman and Irishman go to the Olympic Games, but havn”t got tickets
to get in. The Englishman says “We”ll have to go away and improvise”. Back he comes
with a Rugby Ball under his arm.

The Scots guy comes along with a log over his shoulder:
Mackintosh, Scotland, Tossing the Caber, “In you go”
Paddy comes along with a roll of barbed wire under each arm
Murphy, Ireland, Fencing.

If and when the Files on this case are shown to the Public, the Portugese to my mind would demand nothing less if the case is shelved, then I hope we get a step by step
account of what happened up to the time Madeleine was reported missing.
Sadly, I don”t believe Madeleine is alive, nor do I believe she was abducted and think
the PJ opinion of accidental death is probably right. If the McCanns didn”t have to
be dragged to a recon (if it happens) I might believe they want to find Madeleine!!!!!!!
In the meantime we will keep hoping for a real breakthrough, or speculating as usual!.

Also I asked a question earlier (to do with maths) which you have not replyed to…….
Didn’t you say that you went to University with Gerry Mccann?
