I note that the Sunday Express took another sales nose dive last month to record an average weekly sale of just 673,840. Could the continuing circulation slide have anything to do with the readers’ dislike of its scandalous Madeleine McCann coverage? Possibly.
Or has it more to do with the whimsical, but pointless, columns by the paper’s editor, Martin Townsend ? Also possible.
But I believe it has more to do with the growing distaste for its owner, Richard Desmond. In true Maxwellian form a sweaty picture of Dirty Des appeared in this week’s issue (arm around Lulu, poor her) at a charity function arranged by, of course, Desmond himself. Expect another sales drop this month.
OK!, which routinely features its owner Desmond, is the top selling showbiz magazine. Go figure…
METRO: “McCanns hold ‘low-key Maddie birthday party’”
Mr McCann, a consultant cardiologist at Leicester’s Glenfield Hospital, has a number of clinical appointments but he and his wife were due to be together at home for some part of the day.

Tips to avoid another Madeleine McCann include:
- Have a bottle of water with you at all times, and insist that everyone sips some regularly.
- The accepted belief that a child can drown in a couple of inches of water is wisdom indeed, which means that you must be hyper-careful around the pool or on the beach.
- It is always a good idea for the children to have their own funds (within reason), so during the lead-up to the holiday, encourage them to save up for their own special treats during their time away.

Brandon last summer when i visited north London, a shooting and 2 stabbings in 2 days!! All you hear constantly are sirens and copters.
I was going to Arsenal to meet with friends, i was in traffic, and a “gang” were trying to open my doors, jumping on the bonnet and calling me choice names. I had to leave my car there and get a lift back. As for the underground - gangs everywhere. Had my bag nicked from my arm in a petrol station. I could go on and on.
It angers me bigtime, i lived there for years, i never had any fear of going anywhere, west end, shopping centres, etc.
WE have to go out packs now to ensure our safety.
It is depressing - and it certainly wont get any better.
The tapas and the Mcc’s - - - the strong arm of the UK government, lawyers and millionaires around them protecting them! Why???

The best part was listening to an overhead thunder storm, hearing the thunder rolling across the sea, I loved it! we were right on the sea front and the lightening was fantastic… thankfully the tent didnt leak lol

What can I say.. Lovely few days camping on the coast, no tv, no radio, no newspapers, pure bliss and tranquility, switch on tv this morning, and whoosh..back to reality! murder, earthquake, price rises, bloody ell, I wanna get back in my tent and live in my own little happy bubble!
And.. to top it all, the McCanns are still free!! what is this world coming to ?

About hot and stuffy,JT commenting on bad parenting and the lot….how about her saying about the “bundle” she saw “I thought nothing of it at the time”…she sees a “strange looking man with an egg like a head,or is it the other way around? anyhow,bundleman was carrying a child in a very unusual way -she says- and thinks nothing of it??

I took my nephew to nursery yesterday, without a cap and I was given horrified looks by other parents as I was reminded by the teacher to make sure he had one.
The same parents whose kids are cavorting outside on those stupid scooters, right by a main road while they plan Ollies and Momos next fecking playdate!!!! oblivious to the rubbish truck hurtling around the next corner !!!!!!

That question has no conceivable relevance to the question of whether it was legally or morally justifiable to leave 3 children under the age of 4 with no responsible adult to care for them.
In this country you would, to use a well worn phrase, be laughed out of court if you were foolish enough to try to advance it as having relevance to the case of the McCanns.
I see no reason why I should keep a straight face when a judge would laugh…

You compared the young lad who left two tots in a flat whilst he went off on a bus and was absent from caring for them for up to one and a half hours whilst he cashed his giro to the of the actions of the McCanns. In other words you were saying that the McCanns, had they commited their said crime here in the uk, would have been convicted of child neglect.
I say a judge would laugh at you had you used the comparison as an example to bolster a prosecution.
