Madeleine McCann: My Brilliant Career
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE GUARDIAN: “Heard the same song three times today? Blame the craze for ‘testing’ tunes”
Martin Kelner is writing on his career in radio:
“The problem is that during the day most of my local radio stations are aiming at a broadly similar audience, roughly women of a certain age, from around 30 to a shade over 55. Those who claim to be in the know say this is the constituency that will help you to a good score in the quarterly Rajar figures.
The slavish adherence to this perceived wisdom was made clear to me at the BBC local station that sacked me just over a year ago (on the same day Madeleine McCann went missing actually, which is probably why you never saw much about it in the newspapers) for not being “female friendly” enough.
Irony? Given the Madeleine McCann is now a linked to the f9 button on a journalist’s keyboard, it’s hard to tell…

I wouldn”t be at all surprised if JT changed her statement when confronted with
evidence from other witness statements. Also, O”Brien”s story about his child being sick etc could have been contested by other witness Statements, so maybe the two of
them have done a deal with the PJ unbeknown to the McCanns. Let”s face it Matt, there is a limit to what a friend would do .

Do you have evidence of an “abduction” ?
Other than the parent’s allegation regarding it…and of course..the
very dubious Ms Tanner’s various statements ?

In the case of Madeleine McCann, the British media has frequently elevated the requirements of fiction over the truth. As a consequence, a grieving couple’s loss of their daughter has been made even more agonising than it had to be. Indeed, this last year’s over-the-top Maddy-mongering has to go down as one of British journalism’s most shameful instances of cheap, cavalier opportunism - of its greater commitment to a “good story” over the accurate one.
The McCanns are victims on two fronts - not just that their daughter has been taken from them, but that the media, in all its forms, has exploited them and wanted to use their every sweat and tear drop for their own purposes. The ambivalence of not knowing where to apply the blame, and blame, as always, is vital and an important part of the story, is that the McCanns themselves were the ones who were the first to use others. Their motives were impeccable, but publicity, which is what they thought might deliver their daughter back to them, also threatened to scare whoever took her into taking to ground, if “he” hadn’t already disappeared for good. It was a risk worth taking, but it was also one that started the fire, one which to this day is still alight and burning just as fiercely as ever.

Very interesting , note Kate also says “I do feel desperately sorry that I wasn”t with
Madeleine at that minute”. What is wrong with this couple, don”t they stop to think
about what they are saying?
There is a youtube video of an American guy who has produced a lie detector without
having the person present. He was asked to study a recording of Gerry speaking and
his “graph” indicated that Gerry was probably lying.
Kate , when asked recently about Madeleine and Sean crying and commenting as to why Kate didn”t come, brushed it off as though Madeleine meant nothing by it. No
wonder Kate”s Diary is of such interest.!!!

113 Peter Mac,
English is not my native language.
But I enjoy different accents in the English language.
I did not know that the couple’s English was that bad.
Gerry used to travel and to make conferences about cardiology to doctors who(I think) wanted to learn more.
If it is as bad as you tell, all patients could be very sick by now.

I know Peter. You are all much able to “judge”/appreciate their english than I am although I do/did notice, especially Gerry”s is poor.If I notice,I can imagine how your eyes and ears have become sore after all this time!
)
I simply cannot understand him when he speaks,or lets say,I have to put more attention into it because of his atrocious accent.I know that much about english accents and can easily relate them to such and such county AND social class (
His, is appaling. With Kate,it is an other thing.I have never heard her say a full sentence. She always cuts them with grunts and sights and “you knows” “ejems” “yeahs”… you know?
If GP have a certain level of spoken english,it seems they dont.
As I said,I am no one to criticize because my english is very far from being good, especially when I dont make the effort

Yes,they are definitively trying to not go but they will have to.Otherwise, the prosecutor is going to show his big teeth
O”Brien is scared of the mccanns but he might well go because he is a prime witness whatever he changed his testimony or not.

Would you said his english is worse than mine?”
Jo. I couldn’t possibly comment, since I have not been force fed your thoughts for the last year and a bit.
What I can say is that for educated people who by definition have passed A levels, a Degree in Medicine, and pre and post clinical work, much of which involves the written word and which has to involve a very precise use of English to ensure that what is being said is comprehensible and unambiguous, then, under those circumstances, their English is frankly dreadful.
It is ungrammatical, sloppy, rambling and lacks precision and definition. I am not suggesting that they should each be brilliant orators, nor that under the undoubted pressure of media interviews they would not make a few slips, but they have had a year to improve, and have not done so. GM’s blog is proof-read by KM, we are told, and for a document potentially as legally important as that the sloppiness is simply unacceptable. I am surprised that Clarrie did not intervene and ensure that the blog was up to scratch.
The fact that they both speak with heavy regional accents, unpleasantly nasal voices, and using regional colloquialisms is one thing.
The lack of precision and their apparent inability to judge the likely effect on the listener or reader of their words is something completely different.
We do not expect people who hold themselves out to be members of any of the professions to be inarticulate.

Firstly it confirms that a reconstruction has already been done including simulation of what happened whilst the McCanns ate. It is very interesting the PJ reconstructed objects being moved in and out of the apartment. The second step is they now wish to put all the players together, and there are only 9 it is confirmed, not 10 as has been speculated. To date, Kate and Gerry/their friends have failed to confirm whether they will co-operate in this. Clarence Mitchell has stated they will if they can see the point, if it is going to help find Madeleine. In short continue to persist with their own story. They have also sought to demand a crime watch style televised reconstruction using actors. This would completely defeat the purpose of what the PJ have in mind to put the principle actors on the spot and stop telling contradictory stories. It is of course confirmed O’Brien was missing but interestingly asked to have his meal saved, presumably he never got around to eating it..Also contrary to what the McCanns claim, witnesses state they dined at the TAPAS bar every night. One can imagine why they do not want to be further put on the spot about all this…
PJ are concentrating on what happened in the McCanns apartment in between 6.30 and 8 pm when it says the McCanns went out. This is obviously different to what the McCanns claim, recently, I think 8.30 and in Panorama Gerry said they arrived at the TAPAS at 8.40. I think this does lay to rest any speculation about something happening prior to 6.30 on 3 May.
The first recollection of witnesses seems to be that Kate was near the apartment hysterical with a group of women saying Madeleine had been stolen. This seems quite different to Jane Tanner’s account, but there again, I never was able to believe that she was back in her apartment being a dutiful mum at the time and had to be told by Rachel that Kate was right outside her apartment going completely hysterical! She never even went and checked on her children at all, judging by what other witnesses say. The women never did. Kate, at 10 pm was the exception to that rule, how very odd!
They were drinking cocktails and were lively. At 9 the meal was served. It is hardly likely this could be the case if Kate and Gerry did not even arrive until 8.40 allowing time for drinks, ordering and food preparation. If the meal arrived at 9, it is all the more odd that at 9.05 Gerry then went and checked the children and spent all that time talking to Wilkins as well, his meal would have been cold! It seems to me the McCanns actually checked their children at hourly intervals e.g. left between 8 and 9 and then left between 9 and 10.
It is of course confirmed the police were not called until 40 minutes later, completely inexplicable given Kate was immediately saying Madeleine had been stolen. I do not buy any suggestion there would have been confusion, Mrs Fenn offered to call but Kate refused and staff obviously can speak English and would have quickly realised what the McCanns wanted them to do, no matter what the language difficulty!
It does sound as though Kate calmly handed Madeleine’s documents to the GNR and it was only then it became immediately apparent to them this was actually the mother of the child. Presumably the fit of hysterics had abated by that stage..of course she had an hour to collect herself prior to the GNR arriving at 11 pm. As we know they were not happy and called the PJ who arrived about 1 am.

Has anyone read this before?
‘Case Maddie’ narrows the fence The wiretapping involving Gerry McCann and Russell O’Brien, which would be suspect DUARTE LEVY. Special to THE WORLD LONDON .- Seven months after the night when Madeleine McCann mysteriously disappeared from his bed, police Portuguese seemed closer than ever to solving the case, which so much ink and money has caused. After a surprise visit to Elderby, headquarters of the police in London (United Kingdom), which operates Kate and Gerry McCann, the Portuguese authorities are preparing to return to interrogate the group of nine British are at the heart of the mystery. After cooperating with the British authorities, the Portuguese Judicial Police will be required to travel to England the next few weeks, with the aim of interrogating both Gerry and Kate McCann and seven of his friends with the parents of Maddie were having dinner the night of On 3 May. Elderby’s meeting between the Portuguese and British police in the presence of various specialists in forensics, served to reinforce the research that the team continues Paulo Rebelo since last July and which led to consider as arguidos ( suspects) to marry McCann The Portuguese Judicial Police still suspecting that Kate and Gerry McCann hid the body of her daughter, Madeleine, and simulated his abduction. One complaint that extends to two other suspects, Robert Murata and Russell O’Brien. Contrary to what many thought so far, the Judicial Police has in its possession more evidence that simple DNA analysis. According to various testimonies, available, for example, from the list of telephone calls made by the marriage McCann and his friends, and knows also the recipients of those calls and, in some cases, the exact content of the conversations held by all members of the group. The call that most intrigued the Portuguese police took place on June 10 between Russell O’Brien and Gerry McCann. The father of Maddie initially assured the police that the call had been made from a location four miles from Ocean Club. However, eavesdropping on calls and triangulation of antennas enabled the Portuguese police, in collaboration with technicians British verify that these claims were false. The place from which the call was made and the content of the same signs are missing and the police want to explore in interrogations, which could lead to the rapid location of the body Madeleine. The triangulation of calls has enabled the police discovered an abandoned barn, where they found a towel stained with blood and waste from the boot of the Renault Scenic rented by McCann. In addition, several videos and various photographs are part of the summary, including some showing that Murat already knew the group members. Aside from the strange coincidence that Murat had been in Exeter, where residents then Russell O’Brien and Jane Tanner, the police received their British colleagues various elements that can prove that Gerry McCann and Robert Murata had already been seen and spoken on several occasions, even before the McCann travel to Praia da Luz. A source close to the Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that there is sufficient evidence, regardless of the DNA test, to make formal accusations. But that decision will only be taken after the interrogation, and near the end of the term after which the summary of the case will no longer be secret. With the strengthening of the line of research and suspicions of the police on the Portuguese McCann, investigators have eight months to conclude its investigation. Since then, the process becomes public, according to the new penal code Portuguese. The situation of Robert Murata, Gerry and Kate could therefore worse. Indeed, Murata was declared a suspect or arguido on May 14 and, therefore, its eight months ending in January. Marriage McCann was declared a suspect on September 7, which, in his case, the term expiring in May.

Well, if you find anything let me know.
Latest is a Danish Psychic is saying Madeleine is alive and well and will be returned
to her Parents when the money is sorted out? Apparently the McCanns know this.
Need less to say, no-one believes this.
I don”t think the McCanns have any option but to return to Portugal and hope one of the other Tapas 7 will refuse, what do you think? If true, they are all meeting and
discussing my guess is it could be illegal, under the PJ Secrecy Laws.

Hi Matt, I replied to your post yesterday just as you were going out to enjoy the sun!!!!
Not very bright here, same where you are?
Matt, you have a good memory or can find things, do you remember any of this?
The McCanns rented a villa from a Mr Geraghty, who I think is the one who drove their
car from the Airport in Portugal when they were leaving and kept it in his garage. While
they were in the Villa, Gerry dumped and replaced a Fridge which he said had broken
down, but which Mr Geraghty said was working O.K. when the McCanns moved in.
Does this ring any bells.?

I read that if one refuses to go, there can be no recon. If true that O”Brien has had
some sort of breakdown and can produce Medical evidence from his doctor to say
the trip to Portugal would be too stressful, he could be the one to scupper the PJ”s
plan.
JT and O”Brien were interviewed by the Leicester Police over a twelve hour period
and I”m pretty sure have changed their statements.
