“The problem is that during the day most of my local radio stations are aiming at a broadly similar audience, roughly women of a certain age, from around 30 to a shade over 55. Those who claim to be in the know say this is the constituency that will help you to a good score in the quarterly Rajar figures.
The slavish adherence to this perceived wisdom was made clear to me at the BBC local station that sacked me just over a year ago (on the same day Madeleine McCann went missing actually, which is probably why you never saw much about it in the newspapers) for not being “female friendly” enough.
Irony? Given the Madeleine McCann is now a linked to the f9 button on a journalist’s keyboard, it’s hard to tell…

Not everyone likes Little Britain but the ‘computer says no’ sketch was funny in an eyebrow raising sort of way, just like ’sources say no’.
I don’t know why they don’t speak for themselves but sometimes they do, so maybe it is interesting to think about when they do and when they don’t -very suspicious imo and doesn’t seem to have much to do with judicial secrecy.
I see CW thinks they will attend reconstruction (I’m sure reconstruction is a good offer when you are getting on - they are 40 ish now aren’t they, and after all it would all be paid for by the PJ
Must go now as the 5,000 need feeding here and are starting with the junk. I must stop with my bibical references

One other thing, I don”t think the McCanns are using Caplan &co, at a reported £700
per hour Richard Branson”s £100,000 would be long used up. Ed Smethurst, Kennedy”s Lawyer, was I believe responsible for suing,and obtaining the £500,000
from Express Group so I think Caplan would only be advising on Extradition and the
current legality of the McCanns refusing to return to Portugal. Kennedy is definitely
the dark horse in all of this. I”d love to know what HE is getting for all his generosity.

/she didn”t get much support claiming the PJ could be trying to stitch the McCanns up.
It was only some time later I realised Lawener is Renewal spelt backwards and wondered if anyone knew of Renewal….probably a troll.

BF. IMO Kate mcCanns accent is similar to Colleen McCloughlin (Rooney’s GF). She also says ‘errr’ every few words. It’s definitely a scouse thing.
The ‘common’ scouse accent is really thick and akin to a German accent.
As for Gerry… his Glaswegian accent is quite muted. I’ve met Glaswegians in rough pubs (don’t ask) who I simply could not understand. Not a word. It might as well have been japanese.
I’m surprised at the accent criticism on here. Is an accent a defining feature of us?

Dunno, never met a Gay Liverpudlian, I love their quickwitted humour though. A while ago I was having a Girls night out with my friend and her mates and after a few
drinks they wanted to go Clubbing. We arrived at this club and I, being a bit older than
the rest was a bit dubious about going in. I said to one of the Bouncers “Is there anyone
my age in there”. Quick as a flash he said “Well there will be when you go in love.”
Actually we did go in and I was asked for a Dance before the others.!!!!!!!

Going back to your query on Liverpool accents, I”m quite an authority having visited
many times,and Friends living there. First of all you have the Cilla Black sound, then the Wayne Rooney thick back of the throat sound, then the cultured, just a trace Kate”s Mum sound, then Kate”s pronounced flat accent sound, any help?

I only know if it was me, i wouldnt be able to bear the thought of people accusing me of killing my child if i was totally innocent, on top of losing my child, i would do everything in my power to show the pj and the public i had nothing to hide, as time goes on these two only get more suspicious. Actions speak louder than words
