THE law is an ass. And to prove it a donkey has been sent to prison in Southern Mexico for ass-ault.
To the state of Chiapas where two victims accuse the best of biting one of them in the chest and fracturing another’s ankle.
“All of a sudden, the animal was on top of us like it was rabid,” says a limping Andrew Hernandez.
“Around here, if someone commits a crime they are jailed,” says Police officer Sinar Gomez. “No matter who they are.”

Well as a Donkey’s life is hardly easy, a sentence of hard labour would not allow it to be released back into society rehabilated.
Just threaten it with being sent to Spain and getting chucked off a church tower.

Wonder how many humans get jailed for assaulting a donkey, much more common crime
