Although not if you’re watching the TV news of reading the newspapers because Madeleine McCann is no longer in the mass media.
But the campaign has not been in vain. She is on a press release.
And the better news is that no children have gone missing in the past few weeks. We look through the mainstream press every day. It’s a fact. But what of life on the internet?
The statement goes on: “Using the power of social media in this way will undoubtedly capture the attention - and hopefully the help - of a younger population who are a hugely valuable and resourceful group.
“We would urge the millions of Facebook users around the world to keep looking and to do what they can to help bring these children home.”
Missing People has set up a widget for Facebook users to download, which will mean information on current appeals will be displayed on their homepage.
Says missing People Chief Executive Paul Tuohy: “If every Facebook user downloaded our BT-powered application, millions of people internationally could see an appeal that could help us to reunite a family.”
Because BT cares…

Things seem to have calmed down a bit for now.
There seemes to be more to the violence than meets the eye.
Two of my employees stay in Alex, and another one stays in Diepsloot, so I’ve been pretty worried for their safety over the last bit.
They’re all South African citizens, but this is not really about foreigners, SA people have also been hurt in this shambles, so it’s pretty worrying until I see them arrive at work.

Before September 15, it wasn’t necessary. You could be made an arguido without any suspicions or evidence against you.

It may seem definitive to you, but then you can’t tell the difference between ‘I don’t know’ and ‘I do know’.
Nor can you tell the difference between maybe and certainly.
You are self-evidently intellectually challenged, but thankfully the Portuguese judiciary and the ECHR can muster rather more brain cells than you can.
Caplan obviously floats your boat but I do wonder, since you so fervently claim that the McCanns can go straight to the ECHR without the tiresome necessity of working their way all the way through the judicial process, why they haven’t done so?
After all, if Caplan is as good as you claim, surely he should have already won their case at the ECHR?
Then they could get on with their professed claim of leaving no stone unturned in the search for their daughter…

I didn’t say that he knew about criminal law, but I think that he was just playing devil’s advocate rather than old Gerry himself posting again under another guise.
This is the way that he might normally post without people jumping down his throat. Then again that’s in a forum full of lawyers and such like, then again that’s supposed to be the case here.
As experienced posters, surely you can tell a troll from what isn’t?

I know who Rasputin is. He is not a criminalist, but he knows about the Law. I also doubt very strongly that he’s a McCannite, he’s also very much NOT Gandolf or anyone else, he posts completely differently, and I’m pretty sure I’ve had drinks and kicked a ball or two around with him before.

You have no evidence to support those claims, so you just make things up. You pretend that
‘I don’t know’
means
‘I do know’
And you pretend that
‘Maybe’
means
‘I’m certain that’
The Portuguese were not in breach of their own laws, and they have admitted nothing, basically or otherwise.
And if you are so desparate that you have to resort to that degree of misrepresentation then it does not bode well for the important question.
