Find Madeleine McCann On Facebook
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SAY the McCanns: “We strongly support and encourage this new initiative to use Facebook to increase awareness of missing children.”
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you will know that children go missing.
Although not if you’re watching the TV news of reading the newspapers because Madeleine McCann is no longer in the mass media.
But the campaign has not been in vain. She is on a press release.
And the better news is that no children have gone missing in the past few weeks. We look through the mainstream press every day. It’s a fact. But what of life on the internet?
The statement goes on: “Using the power of social media in this way will undoubtedly capture the attention - and hopefully the help - of a younger population who are a hugely valuable and resourceful group.
“We would urge the millions of Facebook users around the world to keep looking and to do what they can to help bring these children home.”
Missing People has set up a widget for Facebook users to download, which will mean information on current appeals will be displayed on their homepage.
Says missing People Chief Executive Paul Tuohy: “If every Facebook user downloaded our BT-powered application, millions of people internationally could see an appeal that could help us to reunite a family.”
Because BT cares…

No news yet. the latest was I think Sunday when he said the same old thing, McCanns
willing to go, but Tapas 7 have reservations.
My guess it won”t happen, but it will look bad for all of them and maybe that”s what
the PJ want!!!!

Possibly pigeons feel that if they steal a human penis it might improve a bit?

A lot of parents suffer from “blanket anankasm”, i. e. the irresistible desire to rearrange the blanket of their sleeping children, no matter whether it is necessary or not.

Hi, anyone know whether the Mccans are going back or not. Is the reconstruction going to take place on Friday, or are they going to be charged with gross negligence?

Is that right about Brazil? I think CM really should shut up now, and Metodo 3!!!!!
I posted earlier an interview the McCanns had with CNN in a London Hotel, if you havm”t read it you should, not much sympathy from CNN, and the CNN video I posted
later didn”t do them any favours.

If true that a decision must be made in August, at least we havn”t got much longer
to, speculate, gossip, malign or pity the McCanns.!!!!!
I read that the recon is only a “tidying up” operation anyway so am surprised that they would spend a substantial amount on it.
One last question…….If a Parent is accused of Negligence ie, not sending their child/ren to school, not enough supervision, undernourishment etc, the Parents are
not sentto Jail, but like in the U.K. a Social Worker is assigned to the family to educate
the parents and if, after a time, there is no improvement, the child/ren are placed in a
Home.
There is a “Negligence causing Harm”, which in my view is the case here, which carries
a sentence up to ten years, with no parole……..is this true?

If you think we should believe them because they give unbelievable answers, I’ll say to that, well, maybe, perhaps, if you think so…. But:
Generally speaking, in my opinion, liars, clever though they may be, are rarely very intelligent, as intelligent people know that most often, and in the long run, honesty is the best policy. Because they aren’t very intelligent, sometimes, they don’t lie very well. Also, liars underestimate the shrewdness and lucidity of others, as a rule. They are cautious at the start, see that it works for a while, then they overdo it.
Liars are often weak, they are afraid of the consequences of their deeds, they are tempted by strategies of avoidance. They don’t see far ahead. Their strategies only cover the short term. They improvise a lot, as they react to fear. They are childish. That is why you can’t expect lies to be perfect, well thought of, completely coherent.
Lies work for a while, because when you don’t cheat, you find it difficult to think the others do. Besides, the complications, and smokescreen, produced by lies, make normal, well meaning, fairly honest people, doubt. Like when they say they are responsible, we think: “if they say so, they must be, ah but they leave their small children alone, with the doors unlocked, ah well, but they are good parents, it is not as if they were irresponsible, then what they did would be irresponsible, and yes they do it, but they do it in Portugal, it is not as if they did it at home, because they do it on holidays doesn’t mean that they do it really, etc…” It takes us some times to realise we (and they) are fooling ourselves with rationalisations.
You sound very sweet, Maria, and you would hate thinking badly of the parents, I guess. I feel less convinced than you of the goodness of human nature, even if in this case, I have no certainties. I know all mothers aren’t very good. Some are very bad. Maybe not their fault. Yet, poor, poor children.

I would assume that the OC would be sealed off, but bearing in mind the tenacity of the paparazzi , as we have seen with many Celebrities, I wouldn”t bet on a trouble free
trip for the Tapas 9. I still think they should have made the recon secret . Gerry is
busy telling the Media he has no information of dealings with the PJ……..what does he
expect?
M and A
Gerry is telling the media? well that puts that excuse to bed then…
May 26th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
now here is another thought-if you are convinced your kids are safe-you wouldn’t need to go in and check them-you would do as Oldfield did-just listen at the door to make sure none of them is crying-especially if it was as safe as ‘being in the garden’-If your children were asleep upstairs and you are having a beer in the garden-you may well listen in to see if they are crying-but would you actually go in the room every half hour to check them physically?
Why did K&G feel the need to check not onky that they were quiet, but also that they were actually there.
After all they didn’t see abduction as a risk.
May 26th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
901 Val
I don’t know if they would really be able to use media frenzy as an excuse. Not least because the PJ would easily be able seal off the area (and airspace).
After all the McCanns wanted Crimewatch type thing to create more awareness about Madeleine’s disappearance. The other T7 rejecting media coverage would be directly contradictory to the McCanns interests.
My view is that we’ll be here awaiting for something big to happen this week, whilst the police will be doing their work very quietly at their desks and preparing the final report - which will only be submitted to the prosecutor in July (unless there is a confession in the meantime).

The point I was trying to make is that by announcing dates, the Tapas 9 could claim
the whole thing would expose them to Media frenzy!!!!! Even if they surround the
OC with Police, you will still get the Press flying around in Helicopters trying to take
photos. If the dates should have been kept secret, then make a formal Complaint to
CM who is the spokesman!!!!
My guess is to have the Tapas 9 ,OC Staff and a few important witnesses re-enact the
events of that night to prove the discrepancies in the timelines . If it is proved that the
Tapas 9 did not check on their children as often as they said, this would give more
time for an abduction.
M and A
The PJ can limit all that, helicoptors need permission for flight, and the media can be removed

You know what I find unbelievable, : as you say they are “cavalier” with the welfare of their own children, and they tell us with a straight face: “we are responsible parents”. They do something which obviously proves completely unsafe, and they tell us with a straight face: “We felt it was safe”. And their PR says: “They are responsible parents” and the grandmother says “they are such good parents”.
And there we are, asking ourselves if we aren’t nasty asking if really they were such good parents that night (and, let us not kid ourselves, a number of other nights as well). Aren’t we supposed to judge if parents are good or not by the way they treat their childen, rather than by what they say about themselves?
Not that I am interested in judging them. I don’t care really. But who will speak for the child?
M and A
sadly, the fact she is missing speaks volumes….
——————-
Yes, to both of you.
They were not responsible parents.
They did not know that it was safe.
It is never safe to leave young children unattended.
They are both qualified doctors; of all people the most likely to know that it is never safe to leave young children unattended.
Their claims to the contrary are, in my view, nothing more than ’sanctimonious humbug’, to use another term coined by Justice Munby, as part of the ’tissue of prevarication and obfuscation’ we have been treated to for over a year.
I do wish they would stop and finally take some responsibility for their actions, honour their undertaking to go back to Portugual, and hand over a copy of M3’s database to the PJ and the British police.
My wishes are unlikely to be fulfilled, though…

I just wrote a detailed view of my feelings about the McCanns, but it disappeared
before I could finish, so I”ll do a synopsis.
1. When I first read the News my immediate reaction was how negligent the McCanns
were to leave three children under 4 alone in a strange Apartment.
2. I was amazed at how quickly a company was formed, donations poured in, high
profile people donating huge (to me) sums of money, and a very slick marketing
campaign set up.
3 The photos of the children show them to be happy, well cared for and I”m sure,
loved by their Parents.
4. When the McCann”s were made arguidos I was shocked and when they returned to
the U.K. so swiftly and engaged top Lawyers, I presumed their guilt, and thet the
PJ were right in their assessment that Madeleine had died as a result of an accident.
5 Now they are treated like Celebrities and this galls me . If they are in any way
culpable, they should have owned up and taken responsibility. Never mind about
their “status”, think about Madeleine. Had they thrown themselves at the mercy of
Court, I am sure leniency would have been shown because they have the twins to
raise.
6 I just hope , with the runaround they have given the Portugese and British Police,
the initial sympathy of the Residents of PDL and the generosity of public
donations……….justice for Madeleine will prevail.
M and a
Val I clearly remember the day they were made arguidos, (but I wasn’t surprised) some one said they expected Kate to walk out of the police station in Portimao holding Madeleine by the hand, and was quite shocked she didn’t!
I think the celebrity status has lost its thrall, and its hold now. Pedestals and feet of clay.

I agree with what you say. All the theories we have discussed have oddities!
However, I don’t see the logic of making up an abduction story if the child had a fatal accident while they were away. Why would they have thought this would get them off the hook in terms of negligence? There can be nothing worse that could have happened than an abduction any way!! They are ALREADY in the deepest possible trouble if an abduction occurred because of their negligence.
BUT, I simply cannot believe that the others would cover up for them. I think, if the child had been badly injured, they would simply have sent for an ambulance. I think, if the child died, say between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, when the Mcs arrived at the tapas bar, it would not have been possible for the body to have been disposed of (they had no car) so well, without anybody seeing anything, the twins settled for the night, K and G to get ready and join their friends for dinner, quite calm etc. It’s not impossible, but extremely difficult to credit. It’s equally difficult to believe that they left M’s body in the apartment for GM or O’B to dispose of around 9.00pm. And that leaves us again with the question of why O’B would help him to dispose of the child’s body. Surely the risk of being discovered in such a crime would be far greater than the risk of being done for negligence because your friend’s child had died in an accident?
And then again, that still leaves us with the question of why they didn’t make up a stronger story. If they were capable of devising such a good plan for disposal of the body, in a place they didn’t know, I find it difficult to believe that they couldn’t come up with something better than a faked break-in!
It reminds me of K saying in the Woman’s Hour interview that she WAS able to sleep (because so tired each night after the campaign activities, the twins etc.). I thought then that, if she was acting, she would have said something much more convincing about not being able to sleep properly since M disappeared. It was a weak answer for a liar…..but probably a truthful one! Of course, she’s been vilified and/or mocked for that answer ever since.
I keep an open mind!

The Mcanns apartment was / is overlooked from several other apartments. The McCannfiles has several photos and an aerial shot that shows the layout of the Ocean Club.
fourth pic down under maps/aerial shots is the best perspective.
Some very good photos on there.
M&A I doubt if the McCanns would advertise the Cortes phone number after all that suing nonsense over the Madeleine / Yeremi /Mari Luz posters.
