SKY News reports that plans for a reconstruction of the night Madeleine McCann disappeared has been called off.
It sems that several members of the Tapas Seven/Nine were not able to attend.
Kate and Gerry McCann had already decided not to return to Portugal for event…

Question: if someday the P.J. did manage to prove the McCanns were responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance, would the McCanns have to pay back all the money they got from the tabloids in their libel case?

I think this time, probably for the first time, they have paid attention to sound legal advice, and are keeping as far away from Portugal as they can, and for as long as they can.
Caplan et al will be working feverishly to see if there is a way to keep them away permanently.

Maddie: Four friends of McCann refuse to re enact the night of the crime
The PJ will now discuss with the Ministry for Public whether it is moving forward with the prosecution or if the reconstrution remains indispensable.
Four friends who had accompanied Gerry and Kate McCann during their holidays in Portugal have refused to return to Praia da Luz to participate in the reconstruction of events related to the disappearance of Madeleine, a diligence scheduled for next Thursday and Friday and that the Police Judicial (PJ) considered “extremely important” to consolidate the investigation.
Information, confirmed today by a note by the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR), argues that, because of their presence, diligence is pure and simply cancelled.
The announcement of non-cooperation of the four British, and the consequent cancellation of the recovery has not surprise the investigators because they had already received, more than a week ago , confirmation from their colleagues in the United Kingdom,that at least two of “Tapas September, the couple Jane Tanner and Russell O’Brien, would not return.
Friday past, a senior British police Enderby, had revealed that “Kate and Gerry McCann have established an agreement with their seven friends to prevent the realization of the reconstrution requested by the Portuguese authorities,” stressing “they know that this recovery will not take place if the group is not at full strength. ”
According to the same officer, the couple McCann did not want to “refuse directly and publicly discuss their participation, on fear of seeing public opinion in the United Kingdom turn against them.”
“If their presence is required, they will, they must go,” said Clarence Mitchell about Kate and Gerry McCann stressing that the couple are still status arguidos, while it ios not the case with their friends.
The seven friends - Jane Tanner and Russell O’Brien, Matthew and Rachael Oldfield, David and Fiona Payne, and the mother t, Diane Webster - were questioned as witnesses in Portugal and the United Kingdom, claiming to help the investigating the disappearance of Madeleine, a position that the PJ had already questioned in the past and that the refusal announced today seems to confirm

Ah, clever aren’t they. I think not. This is just what the PJ thought would happen and many other people too. By refusing to go the Mcs are showing themselves up and leaving many unanswered questions and they are to be suspects for a long time to come. It does seem someone “high up” has advised them, and this person has a lot of power, possibly by ordering them not go is trying to save their skin. The truth will out though. Someone will talk, and soon. IMHO.

I don’t think we can begin to understand the complexity of this.
Mitchell is playing a superficial game of trying to keep the glasses
on the table.
Caplan and crew are more sophisticated, but I don’t think any of
them can second guess what is actually going on behind scenes from
the prosecution point of view.
I don’t think that the 2.5 million pounds is going to pay Caplan and associates at
the end of the day. It could drag on for a while and truth be told, this couple are
not wealthy. They are not in the Al Fayed league.
The wheels are coming off.

HELP! HELP! This is serious!
I gave my three children a well-known pharmaceutical syrup at 5pm yesterday afternoon because the gardeners were round and I didn’t want them getting squashed in the lawnmowers.
They have still not woken up and I am terrified that I may have overdosed them. Will they wake up? If they stop breathing should I call an ambulance or phone a friend?
Would it be better for my career if I get rid of their bodies and pretend that another six-foot amphibious sardine has been round again?
I feel so helpless and I have another early flight today. Help me come up with a story.

They are afraid to forget something said to the police 1 year ago and go in contradiction… If everything said by the 9 tapas was the truth, police can prove it…. but the 9 tapas knows they can`t play what they said `til now…. They are asking for TV because they need it all recorded to the lawyers take analysis and to avoid future contradictions…. They are always doin` it with extreme caution because they know what really happen….
