It’s the Mirror’s “MADELEINE EXCLUSIVE”. The news is – as Anorak reported last night – that the Tapas Seven (surely the Sangria 7? –Ed) will not be returning to Portugal to take part in a reconstruction of the night Madeleine went missing.
A source says: “They were asked informally to return, then asked again in an official letter last week. After some consideration they decided not to go back. They were concerned it would not be televised, and were bemused as to why it was happening so long after Madeleine disappeared.”
And who would play Madeleine? Her? Her? What about “Look Into My Eyes”, a TV talent show search for a Madeleine fronted by Trevor McDonald and GMTV?
Remember Kelsey: “Mummy, I could play Madeleine. I look just like her’”?

What does Lorraine Kelly think? It was she who said:
How could someone put their infant child forward as a Madeleine lookalike with the idea of making money? The child obviously has to be around the same age as Madeleine.
Is a Madeleine needed? After all, she is missing…
Unless it was to specifically aid the campaign, how could they all live with themselves for making money out of the tragic disappearance of a little girl?
It makes you recoil to think a lookalike agency would have a Madeleine on their books alongside someone who looks like Jack Nicholson or Paris Hilton.
Disgusting! To think that Maddy should be with the likes of Jack the lads or Hilton makes our flesh turn cold. It’s nothing less than sick.
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine reconstruction scrapped after ’suspicious’ McCanns refuse to return to Portugal to take part”
The Mail has the details: The McCanns are “both doctors.”
Says a Source: “They also question why it was not to be televised and why police just want the nine and not other holidaymakers and staff to take part.”
GLASGOW DAILY RECORD: Says Clarence Mitchell:
“The friends had a number of serious questions about the value of the reconstruction and what it would do to help find Madeleine. After some discussion, they have informed the Portuguese authorities they do not intend to go back.
“Gerry and Kate have not refused to go back. They were aware of their friends’ view and they are now not needed for the reconstruction. There were a number of serious questions. For instance, why did they want to hold a reconstruction more than a year after the event?
“Why was the reconstruction not to be televised? That would have generated new leads and information but if it is not televised, how on earth is that going to help find Madeleine? Why did they only want the nine people back? Why didn’t they ask all the other holidaymakers back?
“Frankly, the police and the authorities in Portugal did not answer the simple question: what will this do to help find Madeleine?”
Do the police have to televise their police work to make it valid?

I thought she had sourced it. That’s why I asked if she still had the link. When she said she hadn’t, I assumed I was mistaken and it was someone else. I said I’d find it myself. I didn’t say it was a problem . It was definitely posted yesterday and I’ll look for it as soon as I have time.
I could look in the archives for the source of ade’s statement that GM is “still” not allowed to see patients now but, in fact, ade answered me himself. I thought, from all the previous press reports, that he had been seeing patients since January. (I gave the sources for my assumption but they were from papers before Christmas.) When I asked him, ade said he based his comment on the fact that GM has obviously had time to do all the TV interviews etc. etc. whereas, if he was working full time, he wouldn’t have been able to do this. He gave the hours that consultants normally work and pointed out that they would not allow for TV interviews, trips away etc.

now we just have to find out just who is paying for all these ‘highly paid lawyers’ and exactly why. after all these are innocent people who have not yet been ‘charged ‘ with any criminal act.
but i see all the HTFM members were busy little bees last night and will be again today, and they even have emplyed new ‘members’ just hope they are also well paid.

It does have to do with the fact that the small child who went missing over a year ago might expect the people who claim to love her to be prepared to try to find out what happened.

I like to keep things simple….often the best way…as I was not present in
the children’s bedroom in PDL. I do not know what happened.
Thus I have no “Theory”….but my suspicions have been aroused by the
odd and worrisome behaviours of the Group as a whole since….and further strengthened the longer their “performances” continue.

A reconstruction could be for several reasons. Amongst others are
1 To allow the principle protagonists to walk through the events , in order to jog the memories of other people who were in the resort.
Comment: About a year too late. This would only have been of use within the first couple of days
2 To allow the principle protagonists to walk through the events, in order to check their real recollections against what they said in their statements.
Comment: Could be very dangerous for anyone who had not told the exact truth in their statement, as their lack of candour could be exposed immediately to all.
3 To court publicity and thereby to seek more funds for the search for Madeleine
Comment: A year later, and with publicity becoming slightly more adverse and critical, unlikely to succeed . Possibly counterproductive
4 To collect all the principle protagonists together, so they can then all be watched with mild amusement as they thrash around trying to re-enact the alleged events, and to make the time lines fit, and show how JT could have been on the same street as GM and the other bloke without having seen them, or having been seen by them and so on - before they are all arrested and interviewed at length and under caution (arguido status) before being charged with and held in custody for neglect of children, or possibly conspiracy to neglect, conspiracy to commit perjury, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, conspiracy to conceal death, and so on.
Comment: IMHO, obviously, this is what everyone in the Gang of 9 is most afraid of. Probably with good reason.

No jo, they are possible crimes headed by kidnapping, that is the statement of the Elvara document. The tapas group, who I am sure had advice from highly paid lawyers appear to have called the PJ,s bluff, it appears more and more that the PJ are trying to double bluff their way through this case, only they aren’t very good at it.
