Madeleine McCann: Jasper Gerard - What I Did On My Holidays
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
PRIVATE Eye reports that Telegraph columnist Jasper Gerard – a sometime sports writer who surely needs billing as ‘Jaspie G’ - marked the first anniversary of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance by travelling to Portugal with his wife and two children.
He also, allegedly, took along a security guard for baby minding duties.
Sadly, the reported investigation was never published, it being said to be too revolting for the paper’s Travel Editor, although it may yet appear in the main news section…
Mr Gerard has not replied to the rumour…

Is the relatively low post count down to a waning of interest, or is it shoulder to shoulder in the freezer!

Yes, Tapas 10,
If I understood it well, the book A Estrela de Madaleine insinuates the existence of nr. 10.
Could it be the person who took her corpse and who could knw Portugal very well?

You know the secrecy laws that some people think the Portuguese don’t have.

For the Lawyers out there: A site that is in Portuguese, English and French languages which I find very useful is http://www.gddc.pt/ - an official site maintained by the Portuguese General attorney office - Procuradoria Geral da República (PGR) - that has relevant legislation to understand the procedures and the Portuguese Criminal Law.

I believe this case has just gone to trial.
Suddenly it is thrown out that they believe there was concealment of a cadaver out in the open from the PJ.
And then talk of the 14 text messages that Gerry and Clarrie denied.
Attack.
Defence.
Attack .
Defence.
I wonder at what point Caplan is going to question his involvement.
I don’t believe in a case like this that you would defend someone whom you believed was guilty.
Not when you already have so much money and influence.
You would not jeopardise taking on a case of disposal of a childs body if you thought the parents had done it.
Would you?
Yes I know he defended Pinochet, but I was not touched by Pinochet like I was my Madeleine. Who really gave a shit in that case.
This is very different.
This could be the most shocking case ever, not in the uniqueness of the happening but in the show and cover up that went on afterwards.

Rasputin,
Rapunzel here. Permit me: are you querying at this stage of the investigation the legality of the arguido-ization? If it were illegal, I don’t think the McCoons defence team would not themselves have made this challenged and had their arguido status lifted nor do I think the UK police would have collaborated on this investigation. Am I missing something here? Talk to me…I’m on the stepper.

Anyone know what this means?

Apologies if someone has already replied to this:
“John Geraghty A 68-year-old businessman from Leicestershire who now lives on the outskirts of Praia da Luz. Offered to store the McCanns’ hire car so that they could commission independent forensic tests ”
I got that from:

Hi Scarlett, I posted a question to you on a previous thread regarding the ‘playground picture’ but I think you missed it. You said that the best guess for the playground man is that he is a caretaker (what you call a janitor) of some kind. I could see no basis for such an assumption, so I hope you could clarify why anyone would think that.
_____________
Sorry I didn’t see your previous post though I do remember something of the debate about “playground man.” I can remember the earlier debates too, when Stevo and others were dissecting that photo at great length. There was one evening when lots of posts on the Mirror Forum on the subject were deleted pretty much as they went up, so it seems that the man and the other girl on the playground shots are of some importance. But I don’t think the sleuths on this or any other forum ever came to a conclusion.
Apologies for being vague, but I don’t think there has ever been a conclusion in the public domain as to who the man and girl might be.
Gotta go now, will try to return later.
