Madeleine McCann: Jasper Gerard - What I Did On My Holidays
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
PRIVATE Eye reports that Telegraph columnist Jasper Gerard – a sometime sports writer who surely needs billing as ‘Jaspie G’ - marked the first anniversary of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance by travelling to Portugal with his wife and two children.
He also, allegedly, took along a security guard for baby minding duties.
Sadly, the reported investigation was never published, it being said to be too revolting for the paper’s Travel Editor, although it may yet appear in the main news section…
Mr Gerard has not replied to the rumour…

Is the ‘ cock crow ‘ a hint in regards to that nasty poster the other night? If so it will confirm my suspicions and worries.

gilly i think the press have got it a bit wrong, well some of them anyway, as far as i know there’s no official moves towards arrest or anything, the whole things in relation to a court judgement which refused the pj permission to get some sms or txt messages (should they exist) from three telecommunication companies. the application of the pj presumably had to state why they wanted that access and that was printed in the judgement, the reason being as part of the investigation into mm’s dissappearence and it listed all lines of enquiry the pj are persuing, such as neglect, kidnapping, murder, to hiding of the body (i’m not sure of the actual wording used now) and it’s interesting because it’s the first official document released about the case.
poor maddie, yes.

me too.
i always thought that their arguido status came as a shock to them.
obviously not.
wonder if that was what the texts in the interviews were about?
busy little texters weren’t they?
perhaps it was instructions regarding the evidence and what the pj knew .
as in “get rid of …………. ”
imo of course.
Christine…
every day, in every way…… the truth cometh!

earlier today here it was suggested that the mccanns may have chosen to take the arguido status but on the mccannfiles site, which i’m reading just now. there’s a transcript of the vanity fair interview, one given by the mccans to judy barach and it’s quite clear from that article that the mccanns were informed before their interviews that they were going to be made arguidos. i think that’s interesting that they knew before the interviews.

This is the end of their charade. Formal documents have come out today -I could go on …
I think justice will take its course.. They are now in serious trouble ……….

hi sam.
Would imagine that the british press will try not to report too much yet, as they have all been so pro mccann a reversal of that will be hugely awkward.
Should think the daily express lawyers/editors are feeling very sick at the moment…
the public backlash from the reports today and anything further that can/will be revealed should also be interesting.
the mccanns “15 minutes of fame” may be about to explode in their faces.
none of which is any help to Madeleine
Poor little mite.
Course if they knew this was about to explode in their faces… maybe Kate is pregnant again?
all in my humble opinion.

I”m away to bed now too. Does anyone else go into the office and say….’In my opinion, and it might not be the case and this is purely speculative, but I think it might be sunny today….I have no source for this, but I am willing to get a detailed forecast to 12 noon from the BBC weather line, the shipping forecast and a satellite picture of the UK to back this up if so required…….’ and is there a cure?
probably not

The media are saying the 4 Tapas 7 were afraid to be made arguidos because they also left their children alone.
IMO this was not the reason.
They all 4 lied and they knew they would get in trouble.
i’m pretty certain jt did not see an eggman.

Whoopy do!!!!!!!!
Been itching to get on here all day….!
Distinct lack of pro’s tonight. All off to Rothley to regroup?
Was sooooooooooo pleased to read the Times on line today. Do we think this could be the beginning of the REAL search for Madeleine.
Maybe now the parents will make good their promise to leave no stone unturned and ‘fess up to what they really did in Portugal last May?
Maybe if they now tell the truth about where they went and what they did Madeleine will get justice, they may escape a prison sentence and a little girl can at least be laid to rest ( if,as seems most likely the worst has befallen her)
And if they did harm her in any way may the wrath of Portugal and those they duped in this country, including 99.9% of the media, be visited on the heads.
Poor innocent children, for I include Sean and Amelie in this context.

Did our dearest Clarence Mitchel reacted on the news from Public Ministry?
hi, thanks, there were several newspapers today, what stuck in my head was that he apparently said they (the mccans) had taken advice, from lawyers presumably, and that their leaving the children alone in the manner they did (that’s paraphrased from me cos i can’t remember the exact words) was within reasonable bounds. i did wonder then after reading that, if that was a reason why a reconstruction might not be a clever thing to do as that might reveal anomalies in the checking the of children re timelime, but that’s absolute and pure speculation on my part.

WTF….and you were right to say no, IMO. I think there are a lot of people who with hindsight wish they had been ‘over protective’ my parents were not- and as a result I had dreadful experiences-that i cannot go into-where I am extremely lucky that I am a) still here and b)sane(ish).
