i agree that this is caused by lack of discipline but i do not think that national service would be a good way to go about things, i mean putting weapons in the hands of these idiots that are doing this isnt a good way of solving this. and as for the adverts i think petermac is right, these people are driven by the power that this object gives them, the power of life and death, seeing how victims have been affected will just make them think that this is what they can do to people and will make them go and do it.

I’m not sure about the national service bit; I just don’t think there’s the political of social will to reintroduce it in this day and age. There’d be an unholy stink from tossers like Shami Chakrabati and the rest of the deluded protectors of human rights, but it’s about time that someone pushed their perverted sense of morals and ethics until they began to crack at the edges.

Things are too heavily biased in favour of the offender (be they convicted or otherwise), and the current crop of clueless soundbite-hungry bastards in both government and opposition are unwilling to face the facts.

My greatest fear however, is that rudderless goverment will force us into the arms of right-wing thugs such as the BNP.

Rocks and hard places? Maybe… but there is still time to get out of being stuck between them, if only someone would face reality, and give the PC establishment the rigid digit.

This woman should be fired immediately. She hasn’t got a bloody clue. I’ve seen the adverts. It’s no different to watching cops on camera. Just the thign that almost intices the scum to knife in the first place. Always the same with our Government. Rather than address the real issues they sweep it all under the carpet. IF the kids of today have no respect for life then it’s pretty almsot certain it’s down to the parents unless all of the kids are totally mental and deranged. If you want to know what’s going to be one the the best things for this country to start sorting it out would be national service. Whether people liek it or not the roots of the problems need to be sorted and the root of the problem is repsect ie, there isn’t any. Discipline - i.e. there isn’t any. Goals and ambitons i.e. they have none. Get the kids into national service immediately. get them to feel what it’s like to be brought down to earth by a decent para regiment sargent. They’ll soon start to know what’s right and wrong and if they don’t comply then they should dstay in there until they do. if the governement want to be tough on crime then bloody well be tough on crime. Stop namby pambying with stupid videos and adverts that dont’ do anything to solve the issues. This country makes me weep sometimes. I’ve said it before and i’ll say it agian - we’re well and truly fucked.

Why do these campaigns cost so much? does it make any difference to the end result? Just jail a few of the offenders for life instead of ‘understanding’ them, that’ll stop it
