George Bush Uses Power Of Persuasion TO Increase Oil Supply
GEORGE Bush told the New York Times on June 28, 2000: Bush Would Use Power of Persuasion to Raise Oil Supply.
Gov. George W. Bush of Texas said today that if he was president, he would bring down gasoline prices through sheer force of personality, by creating enough political good will with oil-producing nations that they would increase their supply of crude.

“I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply,” Mr. Bush, the presumptive Republican candidate for president, told reporters here today. “Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot.”
Promise made. Promise delivered?

Thank you, JJ. I’ve spent most of today asleep, so I shall be holding my birthday again at a later date.
Of course we Geminis have no problem with that…

Probably not, but hey! I managed to make Facebook work.
This is extremely useful when communicating with offspring on other side of the Atlantic; all I have to do now is find a photo which doesn’t make me look as if I’m the Wicked Witch of the West.
I’ve never even been to Kansas…

Ok, so possibly this may be a side effect of the Great British Common Cold, but I’m having real problems with the idea of George Bush persuading anyone to do anything, even with Condi as a back up and Bliar as his point man.
Of course perhaps if he enlisted the dancing George we might be able to break on through to the other side; give us more oil or we’ll send him on tour and the entire female population of the oil producing states will devote the rest of eternity to sending text messages to Anorak…
