IT’S Euro2008 and the Sun is celebrating with a cavalcade of footy news:
“I ROO – Wayne & Coleen get ready to wed.”
“SELL RONALDO? I’LL EAT MY HAT” – Manchester United boos Alex Ferguson is on a sun lounger talking on a mobile phone. “Bread devil… boss scoffs toastie.”
“Snore away..Sir Alex nods off”
“EURO 2008…The Big Match” – It’s the A-Z of Wayne and Coleen’s wedding, featuring D for “disgruntled family” and X for “eXchanging vows”.
(Same feature in the Mirror, although D is for “Day out”, x is for “X-rated”)
“GOLDEN DAY AS TV’S ANDY IS BOOTED OFF SOCCER AM” – Andy Goldstein has lost his spot on Sky TV’s Saturday morning footy show
“The decorating will have to wait, love… it’s Switzerland v Turkey”
And many, many more shock fillers…

Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted the sexiest player of Euro 2008 by a German magazine.
Finally something worthwhile from (a) a German magazine and (b) from football!

Even I know the off-side rule! It was a legitimate goal as the defender is still regarded as being ‘in play’
The off-side law though is a bit of an ass at the moment.

3…yampster
I wasn’t sure at first…but on the replay I thought it was clearly offside.
There was some debate in the Studio by the Pundits about the possibility
that Panucci (off camera angle) had kept van Nistelrooy onside.
But it was noted later that Panucci was lying motionless well off-field
when the goal was scored….and only wandered back onto the pitch
afterwards.
