A Five Star Review Of M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening
SEENJ it?
“M. Night Shyamalan’s latest movie, The Happening, is not merely bad. It is an astonishment, so idiotic in conception and inept in execution that, after seeing it, one almost wonders whether it was real or imagined. It’s the kind of movie you want to laugh about with friends, swapping favorite moments of inanity: ‘Do you remember the part when Mark Wahlberg … ?’ ‘God, yes. And what about that scene where the wind … ?’”

Yes, I saw it and can’t believe I wasted my time. What an awful movie! I guess this was M. Night’s ode to Al Gore and An Inconvenient Truth and the whole “we’re destroying the planet” crowd, but this was falsely advertised as an entertaining movie of the thriller or horror genre. It was none of those things, and didn’t even make an effective point on the politically correct global warming front. LAME and POINTLESS describe this movie. I feel violated having sat through it. I’m a fan of his previous movies, but I won’t be paying to see any more of them in the future.
