Madeleine McCann: Relocated To The Royal Court
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE TIMES: Relocated at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs, London SW1
Yesterday, the Telegraph’s Charles Spencer reviewed the play Relocated and thought of Madeleine McCann, the Soham murders and Josef Fritzl. He left out Shannon Matthews. Can the Times’ Sam Marlow do better at Tabloid Bingo!?
Anthony Neilson’s new play, written during the rehearsal period and finished just days before its opening, is claustrophobic and clotted with menace. It’s performed, in the author’s horribly compelling production, behind a black gauze, which turns from opaque to transparent with lighting changes.
It’s as though we can see through walls, glimpsing the terrors that can occur inside seemingly commonplace homes. It’s a nightmarish vision that calls to mind not just the recent Josef Fritzl case, but also Fred West, the Soham murders and the abductions of Madeleine McCann and Shannon Matthews.
And a Fred West - Bingo!
DAILY RECORD: “Mccanns Alert Plea”
MADELEINE McCann’s parents will visit Strasbourg today to drum up support for a Europe-wide child abduction alert system. Gerry and Kate McCann, from Rothley in Leicestershire, still have to persuade 182 MEPs to sign up before July 20.Spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “Kate and Gerry are confident this can be achieved but they accept there’s a lot to be done.”
THE HERALD: McCanns lobby MEPs to win support for child abduction alert system
The couple visited Brussels in April to launch their campaign and have gained the signatures of 211 MEPs so far. They hope their presence at the other European Parliament building will help them reach the 393 mark.

goodnight coco
June 17th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Off to bed now for a few hours coz up early in the morning.
If you were one of the Clan who is not a suspect at this time?
Would you believe that those who support G and M support you equally?
Would you have money backing you up if the worst came to the worst?
And then there is perjury and telling lies about whereabouts and who was supposed to be where and at what time.
Thanks for the film-producer guy Wilkins and his journalist wife and child!
This is one of the most major areas to concentrate on. Because JT only changed her story when he wouldn’t.

They haven’t said they don’t believe the abduction theory, it is one of the specific possible crimes mentioned in the recent court report from Evora.

Quite so; I do feel for the Freaked Out Four…

If i was the mccs, and were innocent, which inmy humble opinion they are not, i would have suspected the friends all along! But very interesting what you say. God it would make a brilliant film!

so potentially a free for all then, as far as all concerned go? With lots of dosh to be made by lots of people

Particularly the lawyers…
But at some point it may finally dawn on the Freaked Out Four of the Sheepish Seven that refusing to take part in a re-enactment wasn’t a very sensible thing to do; indeed, it may even occur to them that they may have been manouvred into the position of suspects as abductors, as opposed to suspects for neglecting their own children.
All in all, not a happy prospect…

theres being shagged senseless, and being senseless in the first place. Pass the anaesthetic!
June 17th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Gandolph …… Tis you who is failing to grasp!
The Chief of chiefs knew that it was no use locking the Clan up. They needed them to bugger off about and get on with their daily business to catch them doing ‘things’.
We are talking about a clean-up operation by forensically trained and aware people and we need supernatural equipment now to be able to find the evidence needed for a prosecution.
The bizzies know who, why, how - they just haven’t tried to prove it yet.
There are at least 5 red-herrings in this case but I am not going to get banned from Anorak by pointing fingers.
They are obvious when you look at the people shying from the media and being the most protected. Rather than keep concentrating on K and G - All part of the distraction technique.
I would hate to be the person that gets pounced on for getting rid of the body.
June 17th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
If the secrecy of the files is lifted, then presumably anyone who is legally entitled to have a copy of the files (witnesses etc) would be free to share the information with anyone - after all - if the secrecy is lifted the pj wouldnt be able to put the lid on the information again, would they? Or maybe there would be conditions placed on anyone who applies for a file copy? OH I dunno, all toooooo complicated……..

Could be. I think I’ll borrow Nosey’s uniform ( Duncan returned it today I believe ) and pay him a visit.

Absolutely! Bloody hypocrites. But its all part of the smoke and mirror act
June 17th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
Instead of promoting themselves in Strasburg, in relation to a subject that they know absolutely nothing about (there is no proof after all that they have had a child abducted - is there?) - they should be promoting safety among parents for their children - they should be standing up and saying “look after your kids, dont end up like us, we neglected ours!” If there were no parents like the McCanns in the world - then there would be less of an inclination towards the amber alert system anyway. The McCanns should be taken on a tour of Europe, be stood on huge concrete plinths in the centre of every major city, and MADE to recite “We are to blame, we neglected our daughter, we are the reason she is gone (for whatever reason) do not be like us, we are the scum of the earth, look after your children, we are guilty of gross neglect”
I watched the coverage on the news this evening and honestly - I could cheerfully smash them both over their heads - and I am usually not a violent person - they, particularly nasty smell under his nose, really bring out the very worst in me.

sorry, dont buy that one, i have said before that if they wanted to get out of a hole, they could have said they beleived the abduction theory, especially when the new chief rolled into town, would have been cheaper too!
June 17th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
No it is not, the court allowed the extension, probably because the PJ have dug one big fuckoff hole and they need to figure how to get out of it, stop digging is a good idea.
June 17th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
I believe CM is currently trying to bribe them into denying they could smell death on clothes and keys and floors and walls and ……….
But I think that the money the dogs are on and potential earnings from Disney making a film about how two clever dogs managed to put a clanful of doctors who were potential wizards and saviours of humankind into a Portuguese prison for not looking after their kids - I think we are safe with th dogs!
