I made a compilation tape the first time I went into labour and because I had an epidural they wouldn’t let me play my walkman - 22 hours of pain and boredom!
The second time I was allowed to play it non-stop until the last hour because I was just on gas and air - 23 hours later and I was screaming for pethadine - unfortunately for the staff and other mums and dads they had a rendition of Ave Maria as the baby popped out - oh yes I was so drugged up that I thought the music was playing on the walkman - when really I was singing opera at the top of my voice - the nurses said they had never heard anything like it -it was not a compliment!!!
Maybe Nicole will belt a few songs out too!

that poor child. still, its one way to speed up labour. it’ll be thinking, “god what is that freakin’ awful noise?? get me OUTTA here!!”
