Madeleine McCann: Allison Pearson Demands And Fact Checking Kate And Gerry McCann
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
Madeleine McCann is retuned to the front pages.
DAILY MAIL (front page): “ALLISON PEARSON ON THE McCANNS… If the Portuguese police had a shred of decency they would now make a public apology to Kate and Gerry”
Page 5: “Now clear out names”
Before the Mail’s columnist can voice an opinion – and what is the case of Madeleine McCann but one of opinion upon opinion – time to go over the fact that has been established in 14 months of reporting (a child is missing) and hear the McCann plead their innocence.
Oh, there is one other fact: the “McCanns are “both 40”. Remember that.
PEARSON: “The Maddie detectives must now apologise”
Now it seems the spectacularly incompetent Inspector Cluesnos are ready to admit they have no evidence against the McCanns
Yeah, those hapless amateurs. If only the Portuguese wooden tops were more like the British tabloid hacks who root their maybes in Portuguese press reports and hunches. What of Robert Murat?
Now, thank heavens, the ordeal of the inquiry is nearing an end. Nothing can make up for the loss of Madeleine, but at least the family can continue their lives without the poisonous cloud of suspicion hanging over them. It’s the least they deserve.
Yes, an apology will remove any doubt. Bring in the PIs. It’ll be over by Christmas. Case closed.
THE SUN (front page): “AS COPS GIVE UP MADDIE HUNT, WE SAY.. NOW CLEAR McCANNS”
Pearson of the Mail demands it. Now the Sun demands it. Can the call be resisted?
Page 7: “Little Madeleine McCann’s parents last night faced the nightmare possibility that they could remain suspects FOREVER”
Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell, who may have a job for life:
If the case closes, who will hunt for Madeleine? And if Kate and Gerry’s arguido suspect status isn’t removed they will live under a cloud of suspicion. That is both immoral and inhumane… There are people in Portugal who have been arguidos for decades
Page 8: “End the agony – The nightmare goes on for tormented Kate and Gerry McCann”
“But it is clear to the whole world that they are innocent of any sinister act against their precious little girl”
At least the Sun and its readers know the truth and will not point fingers.
DAILY MIRROR (page 7): “”Maddy case to close with out charges”
Case not closed yet.
The 426-day police investigation into the four-year-old’s case ended yesterday
Case Closed.
Says a source: “If the case is shut without charges being brought, they cannot be arguidos, suspects, any more”.
Tell that to Clarence Mitchell (see above).
What of the facts?
Gerry McCann, a heart specialist, is “39”. Gerry is also 39 in the Sun.
Such are the facts.
DAILY STAR (page 7): “CLEAR THEM”
So says Clarence Mitchell.
Readers learn that police want to “shelves the case”. It is not yet closed.
Kate and Gerry are “both 40”
DAILY EXPRESS: NO MADELEINE McCANN
Is she deemed no longer newsworthy by this esteemed organ? Or are there other reasons for her absence?

investigating a death, ” even an accidental one”.
I read this in Portuguese and I thought I was understanding it wrongly.
later I read the translation in English and I understood it exactly the
the same way.
Does this sentence suggest Maddie’s death could also be no accident?

The tiring thing is the shit we are fed about witnesses, blue bags, woof woofs anf a million other fairytales, and now we are supposed to believe a very important witness is giving the PJ the run around. These people must think we are all windylickers.

The Sacred Book of Google has failed me on this one.

There is no witness and was no witness, you arrest hostile witnesses especially in alleged homicide cases, withholding evidence obstruction of justice etc. etc. cops and prosecutors just don’t say ok and forget about “Very” important witnesses.
your word in a maccann ear is balm, i’m sure.

I am going to have a break now.
Let see what is in store for the mccanns over the next 2 weeks, starting on the 7th
July 4th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
About the only conclusion to be reached today is that, following the debacle in Vermont, the good ship Amber Alert is dead in the water.
It is a great pity that a 12 year old girl had to die in demonstrating just how lunatic the entire idea is…

Irishman may still be questioned
1736
whoops
Their names has not been revealed apparently. Its all bollocks anyhow.
I think this is more interesting
“The Portuguese authorities failed to request Eurojust (which establishes the connection between the European public ministries) or the British authorities to hear the Irishman who said he saw Gerry McCann carrying a child at around the time when Madeleine allegedly disappeared, on the 3rd of May 2007, from an apartment in Praia da Luz, near Lagos, Algarve. A senior official at the Public Ministry confirmed, as 24horas reported yesterday, that the request was never formalised with the Irish authorities: “Just one rogatory letter was sent to England and over fifty persons were questioned”.”
Once again it is the pJs fault having failed to request Eurojust and all….more bollocks….
If you had no time etc…read the mccannfiles or Joana”s blog.Always interesting
Dont worry an awful lot of people has grown very tired of this never ending saga.Thats for sure!

1734-So are Hogan’s the new detectves? as I said I haven’t been following events-don’t be cryptic -I have admitted I have no idea.
——————–
Haven’t the foggiest; the announcement was that the detectives would not be identified, hence my comment that the detectives had not been identified.
And we don’t know what the instructions to the unidentified detectives are.
I doubt that the unidentified detectives working on unknown instructions are going to find out anything the people instructing them don’t want to be found out…

Not for investigators
NOT one single element has ever given any hope of a clue.Never and this is very very strange. In most cases, there is a remnant. The PJ has moved earth, skies and waters (sea and ponds)
They PJ are trained for this and have a long and large experience,an investigating team is like an enormous machine made of ressources, human and scientific.

Hello chatelaine-yes-just took time out to eat my curry. Missed most of today’s events. It gets curious and curiouser-the new British deective agency-if you were guilty would you do that-put yourself at risk of the truth?
That, or you are so damned scared of being done fornegligence-that you are building a strong defence or going for the sympathy vote. Je ne sais quoi.

The unidentified agency working on unknown instructions; gosh, that’s a tough one.
As the head of Hogan Investigations noted a few months back, he just follows instructions…

1732-Unfortunatey, probably everybody-if they are guilty of nothing else they are guilty of neglignc-but to my mind their biggesst mistake is not to ha admtted that the outcome of all of this is THEIR FAULT. Trust me the ywill succeed in beingcharged with absolutely nothing.

The PJ has to prove the mccanns/M3/others have arranged false leads which is the very serious evidence against them and definitively unlawful.
How the case could possibly be closed? DNA is not an absolute prerogative in a criminañ investigation.
Police forces do not over look anything.Never

Amaral is looking for a British lawyer
The former PJ investigator’s legal representative has contacted two British lawyers, to launch a libel suit against several British newspapers. The first lawyer contacted accepted to represent Mr. Gonçalo Amaral but, two weeks after, changed his mind. The same happened with a second lawyer. “I don’t know what is going on, over there, but I’m convinced this is not a problem of Democracy. United Kingdom is a democratic country, with democratic laws, so everybody should have its rights (to a legal defence). I don’t understand what’s going on”, Mr. Amaral told to Lusa News Agency.

How comes Amaral is “coming out the blue” since the last time he was heard of on his book?does anyone remember ?
20/01/2008
The disgraced cop who was sacked from the Madeleine McCann inquiry is to RETURN to work on the case…..which he has never left
When the witness comes forward,Amaral will go.Not before
What about the new detectives hired by the mccanns? are they going to look for Madeleine or for the mysterious witness?
