Before the Mail’s columnist can voice an opinion – and what is the case of Madeleine McCann but one of opinion upon opinion – time to go over the fact that has been established in 14 months of reporting (a child is missing) and hear the McCann plead their innocence.
Oh, there is one other fact: the “McCanns are “both 40”. Remember that.
PEARSON: “The Maddie detectives must now apologise”
Now it seems the spectacularly incompetent Inspector Cluesnos are ready to admit they have no evidence against the McCanns
Yeah, those hapless amateurs. If only the Portuguese wooden tops were more like the British tabloid hacks who root their maybes in Portuguese press reports and hunches. What of Robert Murat?
Now, thank heavens, the ordeal of the inquiry is nearing an end. Nothing can make up for the loss of Madeleine, but at least the family can continue their lives without the poisonous cloud of suspicion hanging over them. It’s the least they deserve.
Yes, an apology will remove any doubt. Bring in the PIs. It’ll be over by Christmas. Case closed.

Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell, who may have a job for life:

Case Closed.
Says a source: “If the case is shut without charges being brought, they cannot be arguidos, suspects, any more”.
Tell that to Clarence Mitchell (see above).
What of the facts?
Gerry McCann, a heart specialist, is “39”. Gerry is also 39 in the Sun.

As much as I desperately want Justice for Madeleine, if the evidence collected is not conclusive then there is no point in taking the case to court.
Everything that is being “revealed” today has been said over and over again has it not? What makes this latest “release” any different to the others? As far as I know the PJ have not released the files, so where is this “new” information coming from?
I will believe that there is going to be true Justice for Madeleine the day the guilty verdict is pronounced, and not before. I’ve long gotten over getting excited over every little bit of “information” released, because up until now, almost everything that has popped up has not been backed up by factual evidence from anywhere!

Well, it’s not a Court case in the sense that Clarrie has tried to spin it; I think Carmen may well be right in thinking that there will be two hearings on Monday. One in open Court, and one in Chambers.
Clarrie’s line about ‘as any parents would’ is wholesale nonsense in the context of our Family Courts, whose Judges are only too well aware of what parents are capable of, both good and bad.
I agree that it seems odd that, having spun this as a vitally important hearing where the Judge will be begged, for the love of God, to help them find Madeleine, the McCanns won’t even interrupt their holiday for it, but then a lot of the things that the McCanns do seem odd…

Is that the part you don’t quite understand jo, that the case is under consideration to be filed, according to ex-Inspector Amaral this will be the outcome, if you are still in doubt read Amaral’s interview in the Excellent Expresso.

Yes brandon why, do you think it is any better than any of the other shit that rag prints. If you want somewhat more factual and less sensational reporting stick to Expresso, very well respected. I have stated the facts about the hair, would you like to dispute them, incidentally the alleged DNA sourced by the woofers, apart from having being destroyed during the LCT was of no value.

It’s been suggested that it was only possible to recover mitochondrial DNA from the car boot, and, until recently at least, it has always been thought that mitochondrial dna comes only from the mother.
There are a few very recent findings which suggest otherwise, but I ma not aware of any relating to human beings.
mtDNA mutates quickly, but it cannot be used in the same way as DNA to establish the probability of it coming from a particular individual…
