Before the Mail’s columnist can voice an opinion – and what is the case of Madeleine McCann but one of opinion upon opinion – time to go over the fact that has been established in 14 months of reporting (a child is missing) and hear the McCann plead their innocence.
Oh, there is one other fact: the “McCanns are “both 40”. Remember that.
PEARSON: “The Maddie detectives must now apologise”
Now it seems the spectacularly incompetent Inspector Cluesnos are ready to admit they have no evidence against the McCanns
Yeah, those hapless amateurs. If only the Portuguese wooden tops were more like the British tabloid hacks who root their maybes in Portuguese press reports and hunches. What of Robert Murat?
Now, thank heavens, the ordeal of the inquiry is nearing an end. Nothing can make up for the loss of Madeleine, but at least the family can continue their lives without the poisonous cloud of suspicion hanging over them. It’s the least they deserve.
Yes, an apology will remove any doubt. Bring in the PIs. It’ll be over by Christmas. Case closed.

Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell, who may have a job for life:
If the case closes, who will hunt for Madeleine? And if Kate and Gerry’s arguido suspect status isn’t removed they will live under a cloud of suspicion. That is both immoral and inhumane… There are people in Portugal who have been arguidos for decades

Says a source: “If the case is shut without charges being brought, they cannot be arguidos, suspects, any more”.

Gerry McCann, a heart specialist, is “39”. Gerry is also 39 in the Sun.

Is there a charge similar to “obstruction of justice” where the kidnapping tale could be proven to be false? Yet, not enough even to prove culpability Madeleine’s death? (assuming, as Amaral seems to do, that she is in fact deceased)

Well, the autopsy results are not yet available, and the prosecutors are playing down murder charges in the near future.
They have a kidnapping charge which potentially involves the death penalty anyway.
But yes, one way or another it seems likely that the Amber Alert sealed her fate…

My money is on the autopsy will show she didn’t participate freely and willingly and that is what got her killed! You actually think he was going to let her live if she wasn’t willing and she could ID him?
I know where the Amber Alert link is that shows back for years since it was started all the children that Alert helped find.

You made a number of claims about this poor girl which were completely untrue.
You haven’t admitted that they were false claims.
You haven’t apologised for those false claims.
You don’t seem capable of treating the poor girl with the respect she is due.
Everything is subordinated to your obsession with paedophile gangs, which, tragically for the poor child, was mirrored perfectly in the obsession with paedophile gangs showed by the people who investigated her disappearance.
Brooke, who was almost 13, went missing on 25th June; that was reported to the Vermont State Police at 9pm.
The Vermont Police knew that same night that she had last been seen in the company of her uncle who had been convicted back in 1993 on charges of kidnapping and raping an 18 year old girl.
And what did the police do?
Nothing.
They believed his story, and the next day they issued an amber alert.
Had you bothered to read any of the detailed reports on this case you would know that the uncle deliberately set out to make people believe that she had been abducted by a paedophile who had groomed her on the Net.
We don’t know when or how Brooke died because the autopsy reports have not been concluded.
The prosecutors, who probably know rather more about the case than you do, have said that they do not anticipate bringing murder charges in the near future.
But if the Vermont State Police had actually behaved like investigators and done some investigating of the blindingly obvious suspect right there in front of them Brooke might have been found alive.
Which is what the Amber Alert system is supposed to do, isn’t it?
But they didn’t, and the girl is dead.
Not that you care, apparently, since you are perfectly willing to post any old rubbish if it feeds your obsession…

I can bet you your link does NOT reveal the statistics of those children who may have been killed BECAUSE of the Amber Alert? No, because this is something that will never be known is it? Something like the Amber Alert can be good in certain cases, but it also has it’s negative side!

Funny thing the prosecutor has already refused to charge anyone with neglect, and he wont now. The case is over Amaral is correct shelved.

The whole thing fills me with sadness.For Madeleine and other children who just disappear and are never heard of ever.Whatever Ambert Alert and any other…we live in a very sad world.
What ever has happened to Madeleine will be revealed and the protagonists will be punished.If the PJ cant prove her death,the prosecutor has still the power to charge them for neglect because I repeat,her progenitors-whatever has happened to her-are still responsable for having “allowed” it.
NO excuse whatsoever and this is the real issue,the root of the case:neglect

As much as I desperately want Justice for Madeleine, if the evidence collected is not conclusive then there is no point in taking the case to court.
Everything that is being “revealed” today has been said over and over again has it not? What makes this latest “release” any different to the others? As far as I know the PJ have not released the files, so where is this “new” information coming from?
I will believe that there is going to be true Justice for Madeleine the day the guilty verdict is pronounced, and not before. I’ve long gotten over getting excited over every little bit of “information” released, because up until now, almost everything that has popped up has not been backed up by factual evidence from anywhere!

There is no doubt in my mind that the PJ have done everything possible to solve this case.
This “new” story just serves to confirm one thing for me. The newspapers know that the name “Madeleine McCann” is going to sell their paper - sad but true. What I don’t understand is how the CM can make a claim to have seen the final report - unless they have a fly on the wall in the prosecutor’s office?
