Madeleine McCann: More Evidence, Tony Parsons Knows And Claims
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns win right to see key evidence about Madeleine’s disappearance held by police”
The parents of Madeleine McCann today won the right to see key documents held by police relating to her disappearance.
Won?
The McCanns had planned to take Leicestershire Police to the High Court but no case was heard as the force agreed to give them access to 81 pieces of information gathered as part of the investigation.
Progress? Elsewhere, in the same online article:
The couple, who are both 40, are not expected to attend today’s hearing in London before Mrs Justice Hogg…The hearing is scheduled to take place in the High Court’s family division, although it will be held in open court.
Such is the news.
DAILY MIRROR: “Portuguese police to rule out Madeleine McCann abduction theory”
Portuguese police have decided that Madeleine McCann could not have been abducted, it was claimed yesterday.
Claimed.
They believe the youngster died in her family’s rented holiday flat in Praia da Luz.
Believe.
The newspaper Correio da Manha said a 50-page report, handed to prosecutors last week, reveals “new and strong doubts” about Gerry and Kate McCanns’ claim that their daughter was snatched.
So says a report about a report in a Portuguese newspaper.
TONY PARSONS: A case of cruelty
It happens less and less these days, simply because the story of Madeleine McCann is slipping from the news.
But every time that little girl’s face appears on the TV screen, our five-year-old daughter looks up and says exactly the same five words: “Did they find Madeleine yet?”
That little girl, the one who disappeared.
Somebody knows something. Almost certainly more than one person knows something. It’s not enough to shrug and walk away.
The Mirror’s Lori Campbell didn’t shrug.

If you’re around - thanks for removing my surname.
My computer wiped my name out (it does that every so often) and I wasn’t thinking and just put my full name in (minus my 3 middle names

You cynical old tart. Surely you still dont believe the McCanns are involved.
Jeez, if Madeleine turned up and pointed the finger at her abductor she’d still believe the McCanns were involved in some money making scam or summat.
Mods and Admin
No of course silly us the Mcc are floating around on fluffy white clouds, smiling benignly and gently waving heavily bejewelled fingers.
Bollox Garth who are you kidding…..just wonder when M3 find her, before the Fund runs out, of course….Oops there goes a flying pig

Wouldnt it be better if the dopey PJ just made a statement to the fact that they have no proof she died in the apartment or infact just admitted they have no proof of bleedin anything?

It’s the other way round. They have no proof of an abductor.

Got it in one!
The real meat of the inquiry would have been at a later stage; that is what the police, SOCA and the Attorney General insisted on, and what they got…

Garth, what do you think happened to her, and who do you think was responsible. Bearing in mind the parents were NOT in the building, and there was noone in loco parentis

What do you make of the Judge admitting that they don’t know whether madeleine is alive or not, and her continued wardship?
—————————————————————–
There was some toing and froing on the question of the wardship; their Counsel seemed to be suggesting that they would like to keep the Wardship but probably wouldn’t ask the Court to do anything about it.
Which seemed somewhat topsy turvy but given the disaster which had brought SOCA and the Attorney General on board, Scott was probably hoping to convince the Big Boys that he would stick to the playground in future, and not try messing with them again…

Yes, I think you are probably right. These were telephone calls made to the McCanns’ solicitors in England in the very early days; allegedly the solicitors did not bother to keep any copies but simply forwarded them to the Leicestershire police.
There is nothing to suggest that the Leicestershire police didn’t follow them up at the time, and it is not exactly a glowing tribute to the McCanns’ solicitors efficiency…

Scarlett you are close, so close, but you cannot prove anything if the investigators are deliberately looking in the wrong direction. This case will be a certainty to be archived, to protect the guilty. There will be no Justice for Madeleine McCann, unless…..

Very interesting thread - I would have understood nothing just from reading the official newsreports. And thank you, chenier, for explaining.
Maybe the question now is stupid and proves I haven’t in fact understood anything, but is it possible that the 81 pieces of information are mostly “sightings”?

Julie
I have noticed VERY few posters here doing that sort of thing - the only ones I’ve seen are here to disrupt anyway! Could you name a few? You have offended many English people here. I realise you are very passionate about wanting Justice for Madeleine, but why alienate your fellow posters in the process?
******
Julie,you are all english here
I am about the only regular “foreign” poster,I say foreign because I do not consider I specially belong to a “nation” but to all the nations on earth.
I am transcultural and I am free to speak up even in rude english.
If M&A want/decide to ban me,I will accept it because in my english fellows posters”eyes, I have transgressed some “rules”.Those rules have to be determine and not ONLY on Anorak.Which rules are these?
If SA or Spain or the UK and other countries had been treated in the same way as portugal has been ,by Portugal,I will react with the same intensity.I hope it does not sound too staged as well though…
I do not alienate anybody.People feel like that if they want to feel like that. Its not my problem and never has been .I take up responsability for what I say and what I do.
Always.
Now,I will apologise to all, including M&A for creating this very unpleasant diversion.
Now, this thread is NOT about “JO” but about Madeleine, one detail which seems to be very much overlooked at times by my fellow posters
M and A
Jo, Julie is NOT English, and is not UK based.
The Judgement today has not harmed any police investigation either here or in Portugal, the SOCA and Attorney General have ensured that.

They sought various Orders and Directions to assist in ascertaining her whereabouts. Madeleine became a ward of court. It is not known if she is alive, but there is no evidence to the contrary.

I like that part Nosey don’t you, and by a Judge, wonder if the PJ know.

I assume that some/many/most of these callers ,who went to the trouble of contacting the mcc’s legal team, decided not to impart their information for a reason. That reason may have been that they wanted payment in exchange or that they were time wasters, or even investigator s/ journalists.
the McC’s now have details of these people (presumably the blanks have been filled in by the police)
My assumption is that the mcc’s will attempt to get their information (or money) by hook or by crook…
M and A
It may be anonymous info, I doubt names were handed over, just details of what was seen and where
