The parents of Madeleine McCann today won the right to see key documents held by police relating to her disappearance.

The McCanns had planned to take Leicestershire Police to the High Court but no case was heard as the force agreed to give them access to 81 pieces of information gathered as part of the investigation.

The couple, who are both 40, are not expected to attend today’s hearing in London before Mrs Justice Hogg…The hearing is scheduled to take place in the High Court’s family division, although it will be held in open court.

The newspaper Correio da Manha said a 50-page report, handed to prosecutors last week, reveals “new and strong doubts” about Gerry and Kate McCanns’ claim that their daughter was snatched.
So says a report about a report in a Portuguese newspaper.

Her serene goddess was really, really careful not to use the word abduction, despite Scott’s best efforts.
Admittedly Scott’s best efforts were wholly inadequate when it came to playing hardball with the Big Boys, but nevertheless he did his best to get his clients out of the hole they had all dug for themselves.
Equally admittedly her serene goddess was also concerned to get herself out of the hole as well, and she had the less than pleasant prospect of a trip to the House of Lords to try and defend an indefensible order, with Counsel for the LC, SOCA and the Attorney General all along for the ride.
That sort of thing concentrates the mind wonderfully…

Wha about someone else in one of the other appartments-knew doors were left open-got sick of crying and went to ‘quieten her down’-went too far-so just took her back to their appartment-was a search made of neigh Horrid thought.bouring appartments? Got rid of her pece by piece.

I am very aware of it.They are not stupid.Hoggy did not have to say anything of what she said.She allowed the mccanns to be once again,the victims
Still,nothing at all should have been handed over.Really not one single word .Out of principle.
I know the content of what has been handed over is rather useless but I still find it very unfair in a very large sense.I also know it would not have been possible for the Leceister police to proceed without the PJs consent because both police forces have an agreement.In this case,its like “Give them some bones” kind of thing.

You may not like it but the British investigators wheeled out the big guns to defend the investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance this morning. Rather bigger guns than those apparently used in Portugual to defend the investigation there, in fact.
And what is wrong with her saying that
‘I know the police authorities and other official law enforcement agencies in this country, in Portugal and elsewhere have striven and will continue to strive to trace Madeleine.’?
Are you saying that she is wrong and that the PJ have not done their utmost?
And by the way, Justice Hogg was not wearing a wig. Nor were Counsel…

So far,the only thing they are involved in,is a case of neglect.Beyond this,Madeleine”s portuguese prosecutor will decide.
I personally have never said they wre involved in a money making scam.I am not a specialist in that field but of course,it has been/is looked into.As many other aspects of a criminal investigation.Routine,normal procedure.
I can only speak of what I am allowed to for various reasons,the first one,protecting my back and naturally,my host, anorak.
