Madeleine McCann: More Evidence, Tony Parsons Knows And Claims
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns win right to see key evidence about Madeleine’s disappearance held by police”
The parents of Madeleine McCann today won the right to see key documents held by police relating to her disappearance.
Won?
The McCanns had planned to take Leicestershire Police to the High Court but no case was heard as the force agreed to give them access to 81 pieces of information gathered as part of the investigation.
Progress? Elsewhere, in the same online article:
The couple, who are both 40, are not expected to attend today’s hearing in London before Mrs Justice Hogg…The hearing is scheduled to take place in the High Court’s family division, although it will be held in open court.
Such is the news.
DAILY MIRROR: “Portuguese police to rule out Madeleine McCann abduction theory”
Portuguese police have decided that Madeleine McCann could not have been abducted, it was claimed yesterday.
Claimed.
They believe the youngster died in her family’s rented holiday flat in Praia da Luz.
Believe.
The newspaper Correio da Manha said a 50-page report, handed to prosecutors last week, reveals “new and strong doubts” about Gerry and Kate McCanns’ claim that their daughter was snatched.
So says a report about a report in a Portuguese newspaper.
TONY PARSONS: A case of cruelty
It happens less and less these days, simply because the story of Madeleine McCann is slipping from the news.
But every time that little girl’s face appears on the TV screen, our five-year-old daughter looks up and says exactly the same five words: “Did they find Madeleine yet?”
That little girl, the one who disappeared.
Somebody knows something. Almost certainly more than one person knows something. It’s not enough to shrug and walk away.
The Mirror’s Lori Campbell didn’t shrug.

Gerry, after a long conversation and much discussion about tactics on the tennis court made his way back to join his adoring wife and friends. It was now well after 9 and he discovered some friends had left before the starters had been served. Kate assured him they had gone to check on their adorable children just as he had done. He reflected on the moment that he had checked on his. He had decided to open the shutters and climb in the window. He knew the door was open, they always left it open and it was a safe, child friendly complex but tonight was the last night of his holiday. He wanted to be adventurous. He imagined himself a valiant knight in shining armour. He forced open the shutters, climbed up and entered the small window. He was on a mission….the rain had stopped but the air was warm and humid…..

In the Court proceedings.
All the Court can do is comment on the Court proceedings.
It says nothing about the McCanns’ conduct prior to the Court proceedings.
The Judge has no knowledge of the McCanns behaviour prior to the Court proceedings.
She hasn’t read any of the more than 11,000 items of information in the files.
I expected Clarrie to try to spin that line, but do you have to do his job for him?

How can you stay so blooming reasonable???
I think that team mcc are busy copying 81 solictitors letters right now
Clarrie said that these callers did not give any information to team McC didn’t he (thats why noone bothered to keep a note of them - or some such ..)
Now can Team McC sue these people for not abiding by the Court Order to give them any information they request (as confirmed by Justice Hogg today) or is that a criminal offence?

Re the info, well its a start if wht you say is true.
But the real question here is Chez, what do you believe the McCanns were trying to gain out of all this?
——————————
Irrelevant, Garth.
The question is, what did the Police Force, SOCA and the Attorney General think the McCanns were trying to gain out of this.
Whatever it was, they didn’t want them to have it…

Its just that the evening news has this down as a big victory for the McC’s , I was wondering whether all news outlets will follows Clarries press release or whether we will see some actual factual reporting for a change.
The only facts seem to be reported in the broadsheets a week after the ‘mcc alternative’ has hit the headlines of the tabloids, by which time Mr & Mrs General Public have swallowed the McC story hook line and sinker
———————————————-
Push comes to shove it doesn’t matter what Mr and Mrs believe.
It does matter what the Police forces, SOCA and the Attorney General believe.
And what those august bodies believe is that they don’t want the McCanns getting their hands on the files.
Criminal investigations are not decided by the tabloids, however much the tabloids would like to think that.
Though it occurs to me that perhaps the McCanns tabloid supporters had hoped to get info from the files to assist them in their libel defences on the writs issued by Murat.
Gosh, the poor things must be so disappointed…

She also admitted that the courts do NOT know whether Madeleine is alive or not.
July 7th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
“Shut the door, I’m coming out through the window ” shouted the abductor. The tall, slender , man without a face climbed through the small window carrying a small bundle. He required no hands to balance himself. He calmly walked along the street and as he did he heard voices and laughter. He noticed two holidaymakers chatting and joking. At that moment he wasn’t aware that one of the gentlemen was the father of the small bundle he was carrying….. Hard pellets of rain smacked the ground.

‘having bought the mcccanns theory of abduction’
You have no evidence to support that statement. At no point did she refer to Madeleine having been abducted. Unsurprisingly, given that Counsel for the LC, SOCA and the Attorney General had all made it clear that this is an ongoing criminal investigation.
Equally she went to some lengths to make it clear that the PJ have strived and will continue to strive to find Madeleine, which drops the ‘they never tried to find her’ line down a very deep pit.

The 81 items were telephone calls made to the McCanns’ solicitors and passed on to Leicestershire Constabulary’s incident room during the early stages of the inquiry. Sadly the McCanns’ solicitors were so efficient that they didn’t bother to keep copies of their notes, so the chief constable agreed to provide contact details and a summary of the information provided by those early callers.
There are over 11,000 items of information in the LC’s files relating to the investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance…

“I hope she will be found soon, alive and well.”
What a lovely and thoughtful thing for the soon to be living saint Justice Hogg to say, dontcha fink!
I mean she wouldn’t say it if she thought Madeleine was dead, the sainted one is full of class.
The only hole being dug Chenny is the one that the PJ are going to fuk all their files into, case shelved.

How many reporters were in court today? any idea who they represented?
——————————————————-
Not big numbers; just from the small size of the Court itself. Judging from the newspapers they were reading the tabloids were heavily represented.
The only person I recognised was Martin Brunt, but then I’m not exactly familiar with tabloid journalists…

…….that the only way would be to hold child vertically and would have to drop through to ground the other side without leaving any disturbance to window frame/ledge……then transfer child from vertical to horizontal position and leg it up the road as testified by JT?
——————
Vera
There may have been two people involved for gawds sake……….. or more, who knows?
——————————————————————-
I agree with you there, that there was probably two involved or maybe even more but I doubt they were using the window as a means of escape….to go to the trouble of performing the act of removal so carefully as to leave not a sign of disturbance as you believe, then to blow it all and one of them be seen walking uo the road carrying the child!……..surely ‘abductors’ would have had a vehicle waiting with driver just on the other side of the wall beneath the window…..
