The funny thing is.. isn’t this site meant to be ironic about the paper articles everyday and how they make a story out of nothing? and yet all you McCann haters believe everything you read and spend hours discussing it all. Ironic indeed. Who is having the last laugh!

Anyway, if indeed we are here to discuss what is in the papers, it matters not whether we believe or disbelieve them. The point is surely that there is something there.

in real terms they are a middle aged couple with good careers, who knows how much of the fund money has gone into the mortgage, so that if, one day they decide to sell the house it might be worth their while

They are a (comparably) young family. No wealthy background. The mansion will presumably belong to 90+ percent to the mortgage bank. Nothing to gain by selling it.

The mcCanns live in a rather nice four bed detached Barrett style home….. hardly a mansion!
£600,000 doesn’t get anything like a mansion in the UK nowadays and I would imagine the mcCanns property is probably now down to £550 k in the current climate.
As I said, very nice but I’m sure that, at their youngish age, they are well-mortgaged with not a lot of collateral available. IMO of course

According to AFP, 45 minutes ago,
‘EU nations are failing to do enough to protect missing children, the European Commission said on Thursday, accusing member states of dragging their feet on setting up hotlines.
Of the European Union’s 27 member states, only Hungary has taken all the necessary action to implement the hotlines’
It goes on to say that:
‘The commission’s warning came after EU nations agreed on Tuesday to cooperate more closely in the hunt for lost children but could not endorse a Europe-wide alert system sought by the parents of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann.’
I think this takes us back to JJ’s ’somebody should do something’ point; demanding the introduction of the Amber Alert Scheme to Europe seems somewhat fatuous when 26 out of the 27 states haven’t even got it together to get the telephones up and running…

Sell the mansion?

The mccanns not only did not sell their mansion but hit a 180 degree turn,contradicting themselves and paying their mortgage with donations made to the fund.They said that 2 installments had been pàid but as always,we are used to it now,we cant be sure of what they say.
Could it be more than 2 installements considering they never gave any news over the fund to the people who donated”
