Wisconsin law bans sex with dead bodies, the state Supreme Court ruled Wednesday in reinstating charges against three men accused of digging up a corpse to have sex with it.
The court waded into the grisly case after lower court judges ruled nothing in state law banned necrophilia. Those decisions prompted public outrage in Wisconsin and on the Internet, where one blogger wrote: “Doing the dirty with the dead OK in Wisconsin.”
Why now?
The ruling reinstates attempted sexual assault charges against twin brothers Nicholas and Alexander Grunke and Dustin Radke, all 22. They face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Armed with shovels, a crowbar and a box of condoms, the men went to a cemetery in Cassville in southwestern Wisconsin in 2006 to remove the body of a 20-year-old woman killed the week before in a motorcycle crash, police said.

Gross!! There are some very sick people in the world.
My French is a little rusty but having read the above article they, the French, are not as crazy as it would seem. Basically if I understand it correctly consent must be irrevocably proven on the part of the deceased. Presumably this poor girl in question gave no such consent. In addition the marriage is recorded as having taken place the day before the death of the deceased and the normal affects of marriage such as inheritence and pension rights do not apply. I presume the main function would be to legitimise children or some such. My god have I just defended the French - must be coming down with something!
Anyway for the sake of her parents lets hope these miseriable excuses for human beings get everything they deserve.

They should have moved to France - it is legal to marry a corpse here, and there doesn’t seem to be any bar to sex after marriage………

Dans ce cas, les effets du mariage remontent à la date du jour précédant celui du décès de l’époux.
Toutefois, ce mariage n’entraîne aucun droit de succession ab intestat au profit de l’époux survivant et aucun régime matrimonial n’est réputé avoir existé entre les époux.
