Madeleine McCann: Child Alert, Daily Mail Knows And Fay Weldon
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR: “McCanns win child alert fight MADELEINE”
Kate and Gerry McCann yesterday won their fight for an EU-wide missing child alert system, in tribute to their daughter Madeleine. A declaration supporting the couple’s plea attracted backing from at least 398 MEPs - more than half the 785 European Parliament members.
Or as the Mail said earlier in the week: DAILY MAIL: “Brussels throws out McCann’s appeal for European missing child alert system”
THE INDEPENDENT: “Cultural Life: Fay Weldon, Author”
Film
I went to see Ben Affleck’s Gone Baby Gone for Radio 3’s Saturday Review. “Emotionally disturbing” it claimed to be, with its echoes of the Madeleine McCann case, and so it was, and a welcome change from the dull, written-to-formula films that pour from major studios. If profit rather than enthusiasm is the bottom line, all you get is variations on what made a profit last year.
On it goes…

Anyone see that Dutch magazine interview of Eef Hoos (the pet cemetary man)? I can’t post a link because it is not online. A poster in the other place has done a translation but I’m probably not allowed to re-post it here.
Anyway, Hoos seems to support something suggested here a couple of days ago, that Mr Amaral was getting close to the truth then had to pull back.
Given Hoos’ background there is no obvious reason why he would want to stick up for Mr Amaral…

depressing isn’t it and i do think had it been someone from a council estate their other children would have been put in care precisely because of the abandonment.

Tis a very very very good one - they have some lovely nurses….

I’m aware, of course, of the heart-stopping loveliness of at least one of their nurses. But are they good at fixing aortas?

I have tried laying on the couch for three days - but the washing pile just gets higher…
July 11th, 2008 at 11:38 am
Oh look!
The Guardian has miraculously remembered the existence of the Freedom of Information legislation!
Isn’t that nice
It was only last week that all knowledge of had been wiped from their collective memories, but lo and behold, it’s returned.
It also looks as if people needing an aorta fix might care to consider the advantages of having it fixed by the Newcastle upon Tyne Foundation Trust, as opposed to, say, United Lincolnshire Hospitals…

morning lone.
to me it seems obvious that a young child left alone is at risk, i think everyone who has been parent would think similar having the experience or knowledge of how quickly they can become ill, ie vomit, and that that is often in the night.
exactly !!!!!!!
