CLIMATE Change Delusion – A round up:

It’s environmentalism on LSD. It’s like he read Al Gore’s propaganda rant, Earth in the Balance, which itself already read like the Unabomber manifesto, and then dropped acid – Matthew Vadum

Is ‘climate change delusion’ the next epidemic?

The backlash against evidence of climate change as fear-mongering is just “thoughtless commentary,” said Scienceblog’s Corpus Callosum blog. The physicians who wrote the case report were “[describing] manifestations of illness.” This case is about a sick teenager, not about the extensive debate on climate change.

But it does raise questions about “green fatigue” in the general public, said Osman Aziz on The Institute for Trade, Standards, and Sustainable Development’s blog. Global warming is a reality, but we suffer from “the feeling that no matter what we do, it will never be enough”The Week

In our current political climate, the spread of this newly diagnosed “climate change delusion” (CCD) has the potential to surpass that other modern illness known as BDSA Dog Names Kyoto

Psychiatrists in Australia have identified “Climate Change Delusion” as the latest mental disorder sure to make it into the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV). That’s the head shrinker’s bible if you don’t know – Uncommon Descent

Climate change, global warming, rising sea levels — these are all serious threats to human survival and we should be aware of what we can do to help avert disaster. Still, there are limits to how much a healthy person can worry — then you might start to lose your grip on reality Green Daily

That sounds an awful lot like something Al Gore may be experiencing. His rhetoric on global warming gets more outrageous and more extreme by the month – The Hot Joints

I remember a segment from one of John Stossel’s special reports (I think it was Are We Scaring Ourselves to Death?) in which he talked with a bunch of kids, maybe 9 or 10 years old, about the environment. All these kids were convinced of impending environmental catastrophes, and more or less resigned to inheriting a poisoned, inhospitable planet, a grim future in which they were likely to die young. As they talked about it, their shoulders slumped, their eyes were filled with sadness, and it seemed that every ounce of the joy of childhood had been drained out of them. It was very disturbing – RG Combs

Call the men in the white coats with the butterfly nets, we’ve got plenty of the afflicted right here in America – Never Yet Melted

Here is Prime Minister Kevin Rudd yesterday, with his own apocalyptic vision: “If we do not begin reducing the nation’s levels of carbon pollution, Australia’s economy will face more frequent and severe droughts, less water, reduced food production and devastation of areas such as the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu wetlands” – Sott

The boy suffers from a common delusion–he thinks that he is the center of the world, and that his actions will have enormous consequences. Certainly former Vice-President Gore suffers from a similar delusion, and so do many others, both right and left, among our so-called “leaders” – Commenter on Propeller
