Madeleine McCann: The People Analyses The McCanns’ Holiday
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE PEOPLE: “WISH SHE WAS HERE”
EXCLUSIVE Maddie in parents’ hearts as they take the twins on first break without her. Moving pictures of holiday brave McCann family thought would be impossible to bear
The People has no little power and can look into the minds of the MCCanns and actually see what they are thinking.
For Kate and Gerry their three week trip to Canada could hardly be anything but a painful reminder of what happened in Praia da Luz in May last year. And Maddie did not leave their minds for a moment.
Fact.
Not for them the excitement and anticipation of other holidaymakers.
Fact.
Not for them the promise of time free from the stresses of workaday life.
Fact.
Norah, sister of Kate’s dad, said after waving off the McCanns: “They had a lovely time, very relaxing. It was all about them getting away. They really enjoyed being away from the spotlight. We spent a lot of time at the beach. The beaches here are beautiful.”
Fact.

I thought I’d read every far fetched musing of the tormented mind that ever existed on this thread…………
It’s like an advent calender - every day you open a new window into some weird and wonderful mind.

Thats ok but it is not the same and will never be,I guess…so I take you are not working then?or may be not in the same professional area?

No, I’m working with a retired Ambassador who is just a wonderful real person. Well with an “air about him of who he was and still is” one might say but just a delight. That is how I keep in the know of what goes on in the government and world politics. Meet many other diplomats who come to see him quite often for his sage advice and it is interesting how the political world works and what goes on behind the scene between the various countries.

Never made it to Spain. But one country I truly love is Belgium. So when I travel to the UK now I always go over to Belgium and spend a week or two.

We are all joking but I do believe you, though.
I am sure you”ve learnt a lot of things.
My last question -but dont wallop me,please,- was your boss handsome? did you fall in love with him and vice versa? (james bond style)
___________
HAHAHHA! Jo you are a hoot! He was older than I was, we developed a very close working relationship and his WIFE and I became good friends during that time and she was a woman one would not want to cross! Greatest compliment he ever paid me was upon his retirement he raised a glass of wine and said “I’m glad you were my friend you would have been a formidable foe.” Met many interesting people, Jo, and travelled to various countries and rather developed a fondness for the UK.

Why can’t the likes of Maria, Cheryl, C&C get it into their heads that what happening to Madeleine is down to her parents for abandoning her and her siblings…
I think you should replace ‘heads’ with ‘head’.

Were you scared? did you have a gun and boots on et all?did you speak in code and have international immunity?
_________
International Immunity, Jo? I’m not sure how to answer that - he couldn’t land in Russia that I know as leaving the UK had to fly to Alaska and then onto Japan. In Japan I didn’t have to use my passport surprisingly- he would just show his and they’d wave us through. Oh he did teach me promptness very quickly and I wasn’t known for that - never sit around an airport, get their in time to get on that plane and only carry on luggage. He said the biggest danger in airports is sitting around and then also putting your luggage through and hanging around the baggage area waiting for it.
**********
Generally its better to avoid Russia, for sure. His detours were a cover and very often, assistants (?)like you were, are waved through quickly and swiftly.Depends on contacts.Very good advise as just arrive for your flight and dont sit around and better not to check in any luggage to avoid to wait for retrieval.Wise man….
I wont ask you if you miss it … oops! I just did
