Peaches And Screamer: Geldof Daughter In Overdose Story

by | 22nd, July 2008

“PEACHES IN DRUGS OVERDOSE,” screams the Sun’s front-page headline, leading news that Peaches Geldof, precocious daughter to Bob Geldof, has, allegedly, taken too many drugs.

“999 crew dash to save Sir Bob Geldof’s girl.”

The story:

PEACHES Geldof stopped breathing for several minutes and could have died or suffered brain damage after a suspected drug overdose in her flat.

The pretty 19-year-old was given mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and chest compressions by a pal to keep oxygen pumping to her brain. So says a “source”, who provides all the details of the drama.

So why then did Peaches, at death’s door, not end up in the care of trained medics? The Sun’s front page says she “refused” to go to hospital:

She began sobbing hysterically but then refused to go to hospital for fear her rock legend dad, organiser of the Live Aid charity concerts, would find out.

Or as a spokesperson for London Ambulance service puts it:

“Following assessment, the patient did not need hospital treatment.”

It really was that bad…

NOTE: The Sun makes mention of its video of Peaches offering a “drug pusher up to £190“. The CPS was called in: “She was questioned under caution but not charged.”

Had Peaches been arrested and jailed for something or other none of this would have happened, and the Sun could say that it saved a celebrity from nearly needing hospital treatment…
