Paul Z Myers Nails Rusty Nail To Koran And Jesus
JESUS needs a tetanus shot:
University of Minnesota professor Paul Z. Myers made good on his pledge to desecrate the Eucharist today. According to his statement on the subject, “I pierced it [the Host] with a rusty nail (I hope Jesus’s tetanus shots are up to date). And then I simply threw it in the trash.”
Saying he did not want to “single out just the cracker,” Myers also tore pages from the Koran along with a few pages from Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion and nailed them to the Host. He then said, “They are just paper. Nothing must be held sacred. (His emphasis.) Question everything. God is not great, Jesus is not your lord, you are not disciples of any charismatic prophet.”
He’s still alive… for now…

I am a Catholic. I find what Paul Myers did to be completely morally repugnant, let alone professional or even civil. Yes, people are allowed free speech. People are allowed freedom of religion. But that does not give them the right to debase and profane other religions, especially something as sacred as the Eucharist.
Regardless, I will pray for him.

I think this is a lonely individual who is crying out for attention. Why else do people do such stupid things? I will pray for him .

I am an old lady, but I went to a liberal college, Brown. In my day, professors had the ability to teach courses in comparative religion, biology, and evolutionary principles, and to stimulate independent thinking without stooping to the level that Myers did. Maybe he just likes to see his name in print and just hasn’t taken the time to publish. Students are not stupid though; I don’t think they needed a stunt like this to convince them to be aggressive in their own research. They will probably be a little wary of him from now on.

Or even Liberalism! New nails - new manicurist! Too fucking long to touch the keys!

Lieralism is a pre-requisite to be a professor these days - just to make sure they don’t get their fair share of the budget!
I think he was just trying to tell us that today is what we have - we may get tomorrow - but we ain’t going to Heaven or anywhere else after this!
That’s probably why his kids are so fucking miserable! They already know that there is nothing but this - and then you’re dead! lol
Might just go and hang myself now - while I’ve got five minutes to spare! lol

I thought professors should exhibit professionalism and intelligence. I think this professor is suffering from liberalism. After all, liberalism is a mental disorder.

I just checked out his website. He has photos of his children on it. They do not look like very happy children. In fact, they look troubled. Must not be a happy household.

Of course people are going to be offended. this is the ultimate offense to a catholic or orthodox christian. No one would question people getting offended if he burned a cross, or drew a cartoon of a decapitated Mohammed .
the question is, what inspired Prof. Myers to solict a euhcharist online for the sole purpose of desecrating it and hurting millions of people? why would he feel so threatened by such an “unenlightened” bunch?
This guy is obviously full of hate. it does not matter how crazy one regards a religion to be. hate is hate, and when acted out like this only breeds more hate & disunity. especially in today’s world when it unfortunately becomes national news.

Never heard of him. Why does everyone care? If god exists then he’s going to hell, if not then he isnt. So what? Another fine display of the medocrity of fame in current society. Of course our president is a moron so why not our professors as well.
