Miss Dando was killed with a special bullet from a specially made one shot weapon which required specialist engineering knowledge and specialist engineering equipment. George had an IQ of 75 and none of the above equipment. The police knew this. The CPS knew this yet went ahead with a prosecution of an innocent man. Let us hope there will be an enquiry into WHY the real killer has been allowed off scot free. [personal details removed - dr]

I think he has a remarkable sister and legal team. The abuse and repetitions of past misdemeanour’s also happen to breech the Rehabilitation of Offenders strictures..

All grist to the compensation mill which is already grinding exceeding small.

The compen will, of course, also have eight years of not-the- finest bed and breakfasts in the U.K. deducted before settlement and after tax.

Anorak…. the ‘popular’ press have had a field day this morning with dragging up everything they can find on Barry George. Back to trial by a media that obviously had all the ‘evidence’ ready for a guilty verdict. Rather than bin it all they decided to be green a la waste not want not, and used it anyway!
It stinks.

Let’s not get to picky,precious and pedantic about this.

“Oddball” is a fair-enough description of Barry George.After all, the dictionary definition of “Oddball” is “a strange and/or eccentric person”.

That seems to fit him rather well - after isn’t this behaviour, as reported by The Guardian, “odd”? :-

” He was charged and acquitted of an indecent assault in 1980 but convicted on a similar charge shortly afterwards. He received a three-month suspended prison sentence. He was later accused of rape, which he denied, although he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

In 1983, he appeared at the Old Bailey under the name Steve Majors (Lee Majors played Steve Austin in the TV series the Six Million Dollar Man) and was convicted of attempted rape and sentenced to 33 months. He served 23 before being released. He had earlier been found by the royal protection squad hiding in the bushes at Kensington Palace, wearing khaki, carrying a knife and a length of rope. He never explained why he was there and he was not charged with an offence because officers swiftly linked him to the sex attack.

Glad to hear Mr George has been cleared. Poor man, he obviously didn’t do it. He should sue real good and hard for this! He was seen around the area and had been for a long time. Someone with a jealous streak wanted Jill Dando gone, questions is….who?

Even if he had done the crime - it was feeble evidence to get a life-term for.
