Just because a verdict is found unsafe and the accused is found not guilty, doesn’t mean he/she is innocent. In the same way that not everyone found guilty is guilty!
Whatever - I hope he gets the help he needs. Hey - with the reported huge payouts, he could pay someone to do his stalking for him!

There was no synchronised grovel, only a rather tongue in cheek spiel , as is customary for out of courts, on the steps of the said court, as I said loose change , Murat should have gone to court only he didn’t.

There were indeed the ritual comments outside the High Court, but inside the High Court, number 13, before Justice Eady, was where the business was done. Chenier’s noble attempts to type the 3 pages of A4 Statement In Open Court for the benefit of fellow posters on Anorak should not be overlooked.

To be pedantic no action was brought, the papers gave RM some loose change to go away, out of court, something like £50k per paper. Even Andrew Neil said they should have been hammered, after all they did make zillions from increased revenue.

Artemis I do have a source, the same one who told me that there would be no charges, when others were certain there would be, but I am not allowed to provide information on that source, as it is against forum rules. Don’t worry though, they were not wrong about no charges, so chances are they wont be wrong about this.

Barry George has been found ‘not guilty’ after a re-trial.
Because of the peculiarities of the English accusatorial system, that does not mean he is innocent.
It means nothing more than that the Prosecution could not bring enough evidence to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that he was guilty.
He may be guilty.
He may be innocent.
We shall never know, at least until someone else is convicted on the clearest possible evidence.
