OK Willo and John - I will agree with you that whereas the male facilities hum like something out of a Verdi opera, the female ones definitely have the edge on the tidiness issue, but then I thought we were discussing odour, as John started his post with a comment on the expulsion of gas….?

Does aroma contribute to tidiness?
I think not. It is a well know fact that female urine has a less pungent smell than the males. Added to that is the openess of male urinals that allows urine to be exposed for longer than the quickly flushed feminine pisses, thus allowing the fetid stench of urine to engulf the small room.
Thus although a lot of male bogs do carry a certain acrid burn the nostrils aroma the actual toilet is usually clean and well kept and many a dinner has been eaten off the floor I’m sure.
Ladies toilets, although smelling slightly better are often more filthy with paper towels and other rubbish strewn around and I have noticed that the mirrors were often clouded with some unknown substance. I think maybe make up or though squeezed blackheads when smeared give the same effect.

Summing up :
Males visit the toilets more often as most drink more on average. So they are more ‘proud’ of their bogs and don’t like to shit in there own nest as such.

Women on the other hand are not keen on the whole process of crapping away from home so it is done quickly and without much thought of tidying, as soon as ther deeds done, out of there. Stopping quickly to pop a pimple and dust it with make up before leaving like a Japanese girl walking.
Give me a male shithouse everytime!

Hi dairy,
I would have to disagree with you about the men’s toilet NEVER cleaner than the ladies. Yes, for sure, there are toilets used by men that certainly smell real bad and give real meaning to the words “weapons of mass destruction”…….but check out the ladies in busy restaurants,nightclubs,bars etc and what you will often see will really surprise you.
I mentioned a few days ago this point to the manager of a local company here where I am based…..he was quick to agree that even at his company the ladies toilet was left much dirtier than the men’s. In a tropical climate the odour from the toilet can be powerful after use too.

John Blake - the men’s toilets are NEVER cleaner than the women’s or else they wouldn’t stink in the way they invariably do, no matter the location.

Apparently, there is no difference in the amount of gas that is released by men and women.It is a little unusual to hear a woman break wind but around men it can sometimes be a “gas symphony” !
I asked a friend recently about the toilets at his bar.What toilets are the cleanest?
The answer that he gave me was that the MEN’S toilet was much cleaner than the Woman’s. Has that been your experience?
