Madeleine McCann: Bedroom Pictures, DNA And Kate McCann Questions
THE hacks are going over the police reports on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Are we looking for clues? Or are we just looking? Come one voyeur, come all:
A British scientist warned DNA tests on a sample from Kate and Gerry McCanns’ hire car were inconclusive just days before the couple were made suspects, official police files have revealed.
In an email dated September 3 2007 John Lowe, from the major incidents team at the Birmingham-based Forensic Science Service (FSS), said it was impossible to conclude whether the material came from their daughter Madeleine.
In an email dated September 3 2007 John Lowe, from the major incidents team at the Birmingham-based Forensic Science Service (FSS), said it was impossible to conclude whether the material definitely came from their daughter Madeleine.
Four days later Portuguese detectives named the McCanns “arguidos”, or formal suspects, in the child’s disappearance, citing DNA evidence as grounds for their suspicions.
Such are the sort of facts and opinions:
THE 48 QUESTIONS KATE DIDN’T ANSWER
1. On May 3 2007, around 22:00, when you entered the apartment, what did you see? What did you do? Where did you look? What did you touch?
2. Did you search inside the bedroom wardrobe? (she replied that she wouldn’t answer)
3. (shown 2 photographs of her bedroom wardrobe) Can you describe its contents?
4. Why had the curtain behind the sofa in front of the side window (whose photo was shown to her) been tampered with? Did somebody go behind that sofa?
5. How long did your search of the apartment take after you detected your daughter Madeleine’s disappearance?
6. Why did you say from the start that Madeleine had been abducted?
7. Assuming Madeleine had been abducted, why did you leave the twins home alone to go to the ‘Tapas’ and raise the alarm? Because the supposed abductor could still be in the apartment.
8. Why didn’t you ask the twins, at that moment, what had happened to their sister or why didn’t you ask them later on?
9. When you raised the alarm at the ‘Tapas’ what exactly did you say and what were your exact words?
10. What happened after you raised the alarm in the ‘Tapas’?
11. Why did you go and warn your friends instead of shouting from the verandah?
12. Who contacted the authorities?
13. Who took place in the searches?
14. Did anyone outside of the group learn of Madeleine’s disappearance in those following minutes?
15. Did any neighbour offer you help after the disappearance?
16. What does ‘we let her down’ mean?
17. Did Jane tell you that night that she’d seen a man with a child?
18. How were the authorities contacted and which police force was alerted?
19. During the searches, with the police already there, where did you search for Maddie, how and in what way?
20. Why did the twins not wake up during that search or when they were taken upstairs?
21. Who did you phone after the occurrence?
22. Did you call Sky News?
23. Did you know the danger of calling the media, because it could influence the abductor?
24. Did you ask for a priest?
25. By what means did you divulge Madeleine’s features, by photographs or by any other means?
26. Is it true that during the searches you remained seated on Maddie’s bed without moving?
27. What was your behaviour that night?
28. Did you manage to sleep?
29. Before travelling to Portugal did you make any comment about a foreboding or a bad feeling?
30. What was Madeleine’s behaviour like?
31. Did Maddie suffer from any illness or take any medication?
32. What was Madeleine’s relationship like with her brother and sister?
33. What was Madeleine’s relationship like with her brother and sister, friends and school mates?
34. As for your professional life, in how many and which hospitals have you worked?
35. What is your medical specialty?
36. Have you ever done shift work in any emergency services or other services?
37. Did you work every day?
38. At a certain point you stopped working, why?
39. Are the twins difficult to get to sleep? Are they restless and does that cause you uneasiness?
40. Is it true that sometimes you despaired with your children’s behaviour and that left you feeling very uneasy?
41. Is it true that in England you even considered handing over Madeleine’s custody to a relative?
42. In England, did you medicate your children? What type of medication?
43. In the case files you were SHOWN CANINE forensic testing films, where you can see them marking due to detection of the scent of human corpse and blood traces, also human, and only human, as well as all the comments of the technician in charge of them. After watching and after the marking of the scent of corpse in your bedroom beside the wardrobe and behind the sofa, pushed up against the sofa wall, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
44. When the sniffer dog also marked human blood behind the sofa, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
45. When the sniffer dog marked the scent of corpse coming from the vehicle you hired a month after the disappearance, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
46. When human blood was marked in the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
47. When confronted with the results of Maddie’s DNA, whose analysis was carried out in a British laboratory, collected from behind the sofa and the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
48. Did you have any responsibility or intervention in your daughter’s disappearance?
A QUESTION SHE DID ANSWER
Q. Are you aware that in not answering the questions you are jeopardising the investigation, which seeks to discover what happened to your daughter?
A. ‘Yes, if that’s what the investigation thinks.’
Wanna see the pictures of the bedroom? What good can it do? What harm..?

Maria now suggests that it is a bad idea to give out information in case the “abductor” gains information from it.
Oh you are even sillier and nastier than I thought.

The pictures show Madeleine’s bed on the left. An abductor would have had to squeeze between the two netted cots, taking care not to wake the twins, and then stepped on to the second bed - which was unoccupied - to climb through the shutter.
The McCanns fear that Madeleine’s abductor was already in the flat when Gerry McCann left his dinner companions to check on her and the twins at 9.05pm.
They believe the kidnapper had a full ten seconds to hide himself after hearing Mr McCann open the patio doors.
He could have concealed himself in the bathroom, the main bedroom, the children’s roomy wardrobe, or even behind the bedroom door.
The images will also serve as a haunting reminder for family friend Matthew Oldfield, one of the so-called Tapas Seven who were eating with the McCanns that night.
Escape route?: The McCanns believe Madeleine’s abductor left through these sliding patio doors
Escape route?: The McCanns believe Madeleine’s abductor left through these sliding patio doors
He went to check on the children at 9.30pm when the group were at the resort’s tapas restaurant.
His innocent error was to assume that all was well when he popped his head around the patio door - but from this angle, he would have seen only the bottom corner of Madeleine’s bed.
The twins’ travel cots were beyond on the floor in full view and, seeing them sleeping soundly, he probably assumed that all three youngsters were there.
Heartbreakingly, if he had ventured in further, police might have started the manhunt 30 minutes earlier.
Madeleine’s disappearance was discovered at 10pm by Kate McCann when she checked the apartment.
When she opened the patio doors, she is said to have been alerted to something amiss by the children’s bedroom door slamming shut in the wind - indicating that the window shutter there had been opened.
She ran out to the rest of the party screaming for help.

I do not usually use profanity cuckoo, but in your case I shall make an exception, the “f” word which appears to be the extent of your rather sad and limited vocabulary is most apt, ” the only thing fucked here is your rather challenged brain of one cell, you must be constantly dizzy that big empty head for the little cell to rattle around in, do have pleasant dreams.

I have come to no conclusions personally. Has anyone on the site this evening read all the files before expressing an opinion?
I was simply saying what the midnight Sky news report said. I reported (not in this order) what was in the Sky bulletin :
MWT questioned the wisdom of opening up the files to the public because an abductor, if there is one, would obviously want to read them.
The Sky news presenter opened the news by saying that the police knew the DNA stuff was not conclusive when they made the Mcs arguidos but it was reported to GMc as fact.
It was the Sky news presenter herself who said in her opening remarks that the files showed the pressure that the Mcs were put under.
I presume Sky made the decision to report the news in this way.
CM then said that Kate and Gerry would never give up their search for Madeleine.
I am not in a position to say whether or not the Sky news report was accurate or not, nor whether or not CM was lying when he said the Mcs would continue their search. Maybe they intend to sack all their private investigators very soon.
I was simply relaying that news report, as posters sometimes do.
MWT said nothing about the DNA stuff in the news bulletin I saw. I have read, in the past, his theory that Madeleine wandered out of the apartment and was picked up by an opportunist paedophile.
I have no idea of the wisdom of this man’s pronouncements in general but I certainly do feel uneasy about all the information being in the public arena, for the very reason he gave. I felt that before he said it, as it happens, and was surprised that nobody else had mentioned it. Maybe that is why certain pieces of information have been held back.

Thank you for your clarification. I had not realised that you were not aware of his previously reported comments on the DNA evidence.
It will, however, no doubt struck you that if he was very confident some two weeks ago that if there was an error with the DNA, the blame was to be laid at the FSS’s door, then his observations tonight should be viewed in that light.
And, in fairness, I must point out that you have posted about the Portuguese secrecy on criminal investigations in very uncomplimentary terms in the past. It seems somewhat eccentric to now complain about the reverse.

See how the “Marias” are out tonight though??
“Disingenuous” doesn’t really cover her particular brand of unctuous Cherylity.

what are the comments in the British media?
I just watched the video Grande Reportagem, RTP 1, where Amaral was talking for a very long time.
It was a tiring interview(for me).
I wonder if a channel in England or You Tube will publish it with subtitles.

Brandonflours! lol. He should just fuck off!
What the fuck does he come on here for? He has nothing to say and no charisma or charm. His posts are sh*te and he appears terribly to be terribly dense and thick-skinned.
What degree of autism he has I can’t work out - but he’s a few sandwiches short of a picnic and hasn’t swayed one poster with his silly inane comments.
Rasputin - Fuck off and get the dead flies off the inside of your windows. ……… And wash your net-curtains whilst you are at it - and get some bleach down that toilet of yours.

Annie -
I think your “playpen” is a travel cot.
Apparently, the twins were discovered in these two horrible basic cots without even sheets under them. (According to Amaral).

I have a little soft spot for sky news.
20 years ago I worked for virgin tv in rathbone place w1 , in a cupboard at the top of the stairs was frank bough and a beer belly.
I was a runner for both companies for 18 mnths I saw sky in its very early stages developing!
I am now ashamed of them!

Intriguing stuff from you and elsewhere about BK “consulting” with a number of important witnesses.
Why would he do that?
However dear the McCanns are to him, why would a busy millionaire spend time and effort visiting witnesses and trying to offer them jobs, or whatever.
Yet it has been admitted he visited Murat, trying to win him round, trying to console him for the bad reports given by the Tapas 9.
maria and her ilk love to gloss over these strange events.
Maria hasn’t even wondered how the “abductor” struggled to climb over the twins’ cots - carrying the kicking and surely screaming Madeleine - then over yet another bed, then through a narrow window.
Also, he then shut the noisy shutters behind him, according to the photos. How did he do this?
August 5th, 2008 at 12:30 am
From the photo above - it must have been a fairly well equiped apartment to have a play pen - or did it belong to the Mccs? If it were theirs, I find it difficult to believe that they would carry along a play pen and not bother with a buggy (reason given for not taking kids to eat at restaurant - no buggy, kids sleep, cant carry them etc) If it was in the apartment, I also find it difficult to believe that an apartment which is so child friendly as to have a playpen, would not also have a buggy in the cupboard.

What is interesting is that there still appears to be an element in our Press which hasn’t quite grasped that they too might be sued.
Some of the headings are a touch dicing with death, with the ubiquitous ‘friends’ claiming that detectives deliberately lied.
Where does that leave Mark Williams-Thomas claims a couple of weeks ago?
I assume that the hope is that this will soften the blow should the fragrant duo turn out to be not quite as fragrant as one would hope….

G’day All,
My 2 cents worth are:
I have stated many times before that, if I was being questioned by police in a foreign country, and my lawyer advised me “not to answer/comment”, I would just shut up … innocent or not. That is why we employ legal advisers, isn’t it?
I believe this case is far from over. It took some 12 years to clear Jon Benet’s parents of any involvement in her death. It is now 12 years since Baby Tegan disappeared here in Australia (mother was suspect, but never charged) and since yesterday, the police is digging up under a house the mother used to frequent at the time, after apparently receiving a tip off. It might take 12 years to know what really happen to little Maddie!
