I’ve got a lot of Italian friends - they’re all over here because the economy and the corruption in Italy makes it impossible for them to have the standard of living they have in Scotland (and we all think the place is a pit ).

Scapegoating gypsies isn’t the answer - sorting out the political structure is. Although persecuting gypsies is probably easier, will relieve some public frustration and will divert campaigning energy away from the wider issues… so that’s probably what’s going to happen.

Very few countries welcome immigrants from any country unless they arrive with wealth.

I agree that in the current climate we should only admit the people with the skills that are needed - but what about the people who are escaping war zones and seeking political asylum?

Italy has to take it’s share. The tiny islands of the UK holds far more refugees than our Home Office would have us believe.

The solution would be to bomb out half of the World’s poorest countries and rebuild with Italian family values - but we can’t do that unless everybody in NATO agrees that it’s OK to do it.

Soon - it will be agreed - but not in our life-time.

I would love to walk into Ethiopia and Iraq and Yugoslavia and Pakistan and find that it looks like Rome or Venice and Milan - but we will have to wait.

I am an Italian who has been living in the US for many years, but I have family in Italy and follow the news of what is happening on the web. The Mafia operates in the south of Italy and does not touch ordinary people who are not involved in it. Immigrants legal and illegal commit many crimes such as mentioned becouse its easy money, wherever they see opportunity. Remember that they come from the third world where behaviour and culture are very different and violence and corruption are rampant. Italy is going back to where it was in the fifties ans sixties, where most italians where poor and opportunities for the majority were few. Since Italians do not have enough jobs and proper housing how can they give it to foreigners?

In my book the murder and rape has no excuse.

You need to see what is happening in Italy, the country is turning to merde and beleive me Immigrants demanding a better life is certainly not the solution, think for yourself, if they wanted a better life what stops them from aspiring to this in their own country, or is the free ride that much more attractive?

Not that i disagree with helping people in need, but a countrys priority should be at home for indigenous people first, then help others.
