More No News On Not John Edwards’ Baby
JOHN Edwards, the former Presidential hopeful, is the subject of the biggest non-story in the US. The National Enquirer broke it. But no other big US media player wants to give the tabloid credit. Says John Edwards:
I think every single candidate for president, Republican and Democratic have lives, personal lives, that indicate something about what kind of human being they are. And I think it is a fair evaluation for America to engage in to look at what kind of human beings each of us are, and what kind of president we’d make.
Can a frontline politician hide:
It almost doesn’t matter whether reports from a tabloid newspaper are true, former presidential contender John Edwards is not only off the vice presidential list, his status as the third-place finisher, guaranteed a convention slot, is in jeopardy as well, McClatchy’s Mark Johnson writes. The mainstream media, including this space, hasn’t touched the story with a ten-foot pole, but if Edwards speaks at the convention, he won’t be able to avoid answering questions.
What d’yer say, John:
Edwards said, “I’ve responded, consistently, to these tabloid allegations by saying I don’t respond to these lies.”
He’s not alone in not responding to the allegations:
Leno made another joke about Edwards last night, according to Byron York:
…something to the effect of: “The National Enquirer reports that John Edwards’ mistress is receiving $15,000 a month in hush money. No word on how much the mainstream media is getting.” The audience reportedly got the joke.
Is the mainstream media politcally biased?
Does anybody out there think that the big media would be “responsible” and “handle this with kids gloves” if a Republican were involved?
Edwards endorsed Obama:
“It is time for me to step aside so that history can blaze its path,” he said.
With his wife and children at his side, Edwards said he couldn’t predict “who will take the final steps to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” but he said it would be a Democrat.
And the media will do its best to help that become a reality…

perhaps capital letters might do the trick next time, Artemis, for those who seem to be hard of reading….?

Brackets alone aren’t enough to indicate editorial input. You might want to add an “–ed.” in there too.

I had rather hoped that adding ‘Edited’ together with my rank and serial number would suffice to convey the fact that it had, indeed, been edited.
Clearly I was overly optimistic.

If you have to affix “in my opinion” to an accusation of mass murder, maybe your case isn’t as solid as you’d like to think.

You may perhaps have overlooked the fact that the post was edited to make it clear that, since the poster provided no evidence of mass murder, it must inevitably be simply his, or her, opinion.

This fake morality of America is becoming tiresome. The current President is a fascist MONSTER and mass murderer and liar [in my opinion], but John Edwards has hetero sex, fathers a baby that he is taking care of [in my opinion] and it is SHOCKING!!! Some long overdue self examination of the American media is essential. Millions of people have been slaughtered [in my opinion] and the media is awol.

I rather suspect that you are not the real John Edwards.
Though I’m sorry to hear of your financial problems.
