Re Garth's comment of 8.11 am

What I don't understand about the car is how can the dogs have discovered the scent of a cadaver in the boot etc if the Mccs didn't hire it until several weeks later. Was the car hired by any of their friends in the interim. Did the car hire firm not make records available to the police regarding who had hired the car during that period?

Strange isn’t it? No.

Very clever people! No.

What does that leave us? - GARTH! It quite simply leaves us with a contrived and protracted bunch of bollocks concerning the time-lines of all the individual witnesses.

BOUNTYHUNTER!!! Miss you too Darling!

Oh my Darling Warmongerer General and Kitten of the Commentariat.

We must stop this mutual admiration society of ours. It don't half wind up some of the punters who are trying to get a sense of belonging and their own fan-clubs going!

Have a fabulous day and grab some sunshine! I will be back to piss people off later lol

Yes I agree, all too complex.... nine times out ten the most simple theory is the right one. Sadly I think that is the abduction one.

Mornin me little cherub.

I shouldn't fret too much over the fall from the window as it wasn't really taken that seriously. However, the main point being M came to her death in the apartment.

Between the time Kate checked and the notifying to the remainder of the group seems a little too short to hide a body without anyone noticing imo ;) So hopefully some should recognise that we can rule that one out!

What does that leave us?

Ah yes Gerrys visit. He visited at around 9.00 (witness at bar confirming this) and he was seen talking to Wilkins in the street which Wilkins confirms. So that should hopefully rule out to most any involvement of Gerry at that time.

Earlier?

Well the McCanns left the apartment at around 8.30pm. Could they have killed her between the time of 6.40 in the evening (the time when Payne claims he'd seen them) and 8.30? Gerry returned at around 7.00 pm so it gives them an hour and a half to hide her body so noone can find her, make up a story about abduction and then get ready for the evening and toddle off to the tapas bar whereby they had a conversation with a couple on another table whom they befriended whilst on holiday. And all as if nothing had happened.

Very clever people!

Of course they must be clever because they would have known full well that an investigation would automatically take the course of suspecting the parents, so clever infact, that knowing that, they were able to hide her body somewhere and then move it again in a hired car some 25 days later? Of course we have to believe they handled her body in the car because the Dna tells us so. Just like it tells us the DNA in the apartment points to a dead body having been there at some point.

So if you believe the DNA and the dog scents etc then you have to believe that the McCanns had hidden the body somewhere in that short space of time, somewhere where nobody would suspect and then move the body in a car some time the next month. Again without being seen by anyone, even the PJ, competant as they are, failed to keep a close surveillance on the McCanns whom they suspected.

Garth Says:
August 14th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

""For arguments sake lets just say that Madeleine fell
out of the parents bedroom window which has a drop
(not enough to kill a child by my reckoning but whatever)""

_______________________________________________________
A dodgy presumption that....

A 13 foot fall, headfirst, could most certainly cause
fatal injuries to a child, or even an adult.
Children, and adults, have died as a result of injuries
sustained from falling when standing on a chair.
(Be very careful when next you stand on a chair to
achieve a High 5. :) )

*******************************************************

The other matters you raise could of course be dependent
upon many other factors...several of which HOTWATER quoted
in his/her reply to your post.

BTW....the referral I made regarding this possible scenario
is not what I believe may have happened.

I was replying to a fellow poster who indicated some
difficulty in connecting how a cadaver scent could be
alerted from both the flowerbed and behind the sofa.

I have no idea what happened regarding the possibility
of a fatal accident taking place...but the consideration
I posted could be a possible explanation for the connection
of the two alerts.

However the possibility that the flowerbed from which the
cadaver scent was alerted and the site of the window behind
the sofa...may not be one above the other. (As has been also
noted by another fellow poster.)

Worth a checkout though to clarify. :)

Now where is my "scene of incident" map and report ?? :) :)

Another scenario would be that Maddie did indeed meet with an accident of some sort. Not that bad maybe, but enough to warrant taking her some miles away for treatment. Hence someone seeing persons with a child in a car. How about Maddie's injuries severe and the Mcs give her away to another family...pay them to shut up about it. Anything is possible with these Mcs and friends.

a quick perusal of the night time conversations here reveals a lot of chatter that a gnat would find unworthy
i do however enjoy ebay - 100 items is a lot of stuff you are clearly very organised with digital pics etc

Welcome to our world meercat - but beware, you need an inexhaustable amount of stamina, and the inteligence of a gnat will just not do. If you want to join the elite of the night, you really must be up to speed on everything you intend to discuss. We night howlers get our sleep when the air is fresh - we do not breath in the snores of others - so go ahead meercat - give us something to think about!!

Coco

I hope someone mentions that Madeleine wasn't seen for an hour (not the bleedin' 20 mins they told us at first) and the door was unlocked.

When did millions of Brit parents start doing things that stupid?

CHATELAINE: Anyway, I was objecting to the fact that a ’smear’ [better?] like e.g. Garth’s: “Amaral faces charges of Perjury. If convicted what do you think that says about the man? ” is passing without any comment.
.............................................

I agree with you about this.

However - I never underestimate the Mods ability to keep giving him rope! lol

Because one day he could hang himself and strangle the very people he insists on revering.

So let's let him ride on his fun-days.

He is what we call in Coco-Land a Knob-Head of the highest order - but he has dropped many bollocks and one day somebody may just see that the case has to be re-opened just to get the libel stuff sorted out! lol

THERE'S NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE - is my new single! Out now!

Got a proper real-life day today again - That's two days running this week.

I don't think that much more very tasty stuff is going to come out until the Clannies have got their heads around what they said and contradicted and swapped for other things which were later contradicted - on the advice of their friends and lawyers and the friends of the lawyers and the lawyers of the other friends and their second opinion lawyers who will consult with ........

Very messy if you ask me!

I still want to know if it's absolutely true that K threatened the bizzies about the Government making sure they fucked off and stopped investigating the Clan.

It would put part of my mind at rest.

I wish I felt that I had enough power behind me to say something like that. What made her think she could say this???????

Lately, I have been thinking that I am a traitor to my own country because I have thoughts and ideas that won't be tolerated by the Government - and are therefore not even allowed to be printed in the Press - or even pasted onto an internet page.

'Tis an ill-wind that blows for the human mind - never mind the fucking Clan!

I feel like I'm working for the Dutch Underground movement in the 1930s with all this fucking whispering and fucking about - All because some parents think it's OK to fuck off and leave the kids out of ear-shot.

However I reckon the foreign Press will go to town next week and the ensuing weeks.

It isn't libel to mention fucking off out and leaving the kids. The fact that one disappeared proves that they were not safe to be left - no matter how safe they thought it was. Being stupid and ignorant is not a defence.

Garth Says:
August 14th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

Okay lets have a look at the theory that Madeleine had an accident in the apartment and the McCanns have tried to cover it up.

For arguments sake lets just say that Madeleine fell out of the parents bedroom window which has a drop (not enough to kill a child by my reckoning but whatever) which some apparently believe she could have seriously harmed herself.

So Kate returns to find Madeleine dead. Her first thoughts (because she is as brazen as they come) are not of the infants well being but more about saving her own neck. So with that in mind what does she do? She hides the body temporarily (where we dont know) and then informs the remainder of the party that she’s been abducted.

Everybody is searching. The police are informed. Kate puts on an a very clever act of panic.

Now its pretty obvious that this plan was well thought out because noone has got a clue as to Madelienes whereabouts. But then she hasn’t really had to time to concoct such a story and to fool the world has she?

But if she is as clever as some might believe then why didn’t Kate McCann just say that Madeleine had an accident in her presence? She fell over and banged her head after jumping around on the bed or something?

Some very good points Garth I have to say.

It's tempting to try to work Mrs Fenn into this scenario. Would Mrs Fenn have heard the accident happen, at a time when she knew the parents weren't around? That would stop KM claiming that the accident happened in her presence...but then again Mrs Fenn's evidence would be so clear in this scenario that the cops would have solved the whole thing very quickly (one would hope).

Could booze have played a part? Or reputations perhaps - a bunch of people whose reputations are so important that they can't admit to having made a mistake, preferring a story that paints them up as victims? Unlikely - and if that was the motivation it has backfired somewhat.

How about sedation? That could have been a factor in the accident, and something that a post mortem might have revealed. Some medication that all the doctors in the group had decided, collectively, would be okay for Maddie to take, so when it goes wrong there is a feeling of collective responsibility. Or perhaps the source of the medication presents problems.

I think to answer your post fully Garth we need to know more about the evidence of Mrs Fenn, Mrs Webster and the Tapas staff. Maybe Mrs Fenn heard a bang and a crash. Maybe she heard nothing on 3 May. Did Mrs Webster really say (after the alarm was raised) that at first it all seemed like a game? Can the Tapas staff confirm the crucial timelines for the period 8.30 - 10 pm?

To be continued no doubt.
