A cautionery cycling tale…………….
Many years ago, before I buggered off to another country, I was in a band.We were driving to a gig one evening in our ancient transit van and our sax player was sitting in the front passenger seat tootling away. Traffic was heavy and we were going fairly slowly as we passed a cyclist. The horn player stuck his sax out the window and, as we passed close to the innocent rider, gave a mightly blast right in his ear.
We watched as the startled rider crashed into a parked car and then on to the pavement. We all thought it was hysterically funny, if you do enough drugs anything is funny!
Over the years I’ve occasionally thought about that poor guy. So if you’re reading this mystery cyclist (Ealing high street 1968) I’d like to apologize on behalf of the band.
It was funny though!
And it seems a new generation is keeping up the tradition of cyclist harrassment!
