Two British tourists tried to take a small fair-haired child from a beach, thinking it was Madeleine McCann, it emerged yesterday.

When the woman’s back was turned, they grabbed the child’s arm only to find it was not Madeleine but the son of a Croatian footballer. Leone Drpic is two-and-ahalf and has long blond hair like Madeleine, but there the similarity ends. His dad Dino, 27, plays for Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia and his mum Nives is a glamour model.

Nives said yesterday: “I started getting suspicious when the British woman approached Leone and started chatting with him. Suddenly she grabbed him by the arm, apparently thinking nobody was watching him. However, when I went over she realised her mistake and apologised.”

Genette’s father, John Tate, has prostate cancer and on Monday said his dying wish would be to find the body of his “little girl”. He told the Western Morning News what happened to his family is similar to the case of missing Madeleine McCann. The 66-year-old said: “I have nothing but total sympathy and empathy for the McCanns. What has happened to Maddie is very similar to what happened to ourselves.
“I hope Maddie is found alive and well and reunited with her family. I would have loved nothing more than that for myself with Genette. But, of course, her mum Sheila and myself have known for many years that Genette was murdered.”

I got two at home ! Junior and Marcy - long fluffy haired lazy oiks. Marcy can’t even manage to get up the garden fence anymore. She tries to jump and misses it by about a foot so only leaps about 5 inches off the ground. I’ve gotta video it and show someone - it’s sooo funny.

I have no idea whats gone on between you and Chenier.
It is a real shame that what ever has occured has caused Duncan to leave - he has always been the most even handed, and committed mod IMO.
I will certainly miss the clever ways he had of keeping us all inline, with his sense of humour and technical genius (often made me jealous).
It is sad too that carmen is leaving, her insight into this case will be particularly missed.
Now I for one would ask you to either let everyone know what your beef is (this time) or just shut up.
You keep on and on about your injustice and are pushing us all to take sides.
While we all moan about Garthy and gandolf, you are not being a ‘friend’ to this site when you constantly whine about your hurt and injustice. What about Duncans injustice?
If you are unhappy about the way anorak is being moderated then take it up with the proper channels and if necessary find somewhere else to post.

WHAT are the chances ?
Edie and Keala, 100% record……….. then they get it wrong 8 times on 6 different occasions in several different locations.
They then go to Jersey and instantly back on track 1 alert and remains several years old are found !
Where they lying, did they bear a grudge against the Mcca’s ? was it jetlag ?
Like I said before. I’ve lived with gun dogs all my life and have been a beater on many occasions and when they get a scent they get a scent. They don’t mess up. Something was there for them to smell it end of.

I think it’s a real shame that Jes Wilkins has not been hypnotised to see if he can remember anything more about the time that JT passed him and Gerry.
He says he doesn’t remember seeing her and he also didn’t see bundleman even though from where he was standing, he ought to have. After all, the light was good enough for JT to recognise Madeleine’s pyjamas.
Of course, this casts doubt on JT’s whole statement. Just imagine how it would shut up people who didn’t believe in the abduction if he could recall the events of that time.
Mind you, I don’t think JT has been hypnotised either.
