Madeleine McCann: A New eFit, Selling Books And A Rapist’s Cover Story
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
DAILY MIRROR: “Madeleine McCann: Nanny’s new sketch echoes picture of kidnapper”
That’s the picture on the left. For wont of name, we’ll call him Cool.
This is the shadowy figure seen lurking in the bushes outside the flat from where Madeleine McCann vanished. And the woman who confronted the straggly-haired stranger eight months before is convinced he is the same man family friend Jane Tanner spotted carrying a child in pyjamas the night Maddy disappeared.
The man Jane Tanner says she saw is also on the left, for comparison purposes. They could be twins.
Despite telling police, British nanny Margaret Hall was not asked to help with an artist’s impression. Now, thanks to the Daily Mirror, a sketch of his face can be seen for the first time.
The Daily Mirror is on the case. It’s track record is im-pecc-able.
Margaret Hall added: “My description of the man is very similar to that of Jane Tanner’s. He had long hair but it was quite scruffy and straggly looking. He had said ‘no’ in English but he was not English because of his skin colouring. He looked more Portuguese than anything.”
DORSET ECHO: “Rapist gets 13 year sentence”
A FORMER Burger King manager has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a girl and 16 counts of sexual assault over a period of seven years. Ehmad Alguet, 44, of Esmonde Way in Canford Heath, Poole, was found guilty by a majority verdict of 10 to two on each of the 17 counts by the jury at Bournemouth Crown Court yesterday.
And:
He also told the court he had looked at illegal porn sites because he was trying to trace missing toddler Madeleine McCann.
THE GUARDIAN: “Edinburgh festival: When comedians attack - What is the most jaw-dropping example of audience harassment by a comic that you’ve come across?”
Capurro’s show this year is basically a big can of carbonated outrage, shaken vigorously and hurled into the crowd, with jokes about Madeleine McCann, paedophilia and Islam all present and correct.
The Guardian loves Capurro, the try-very-hard comic.
BBC: “Born Yesterday writer at festival”
An author who wrote last summer’s news as a novel and another who went in search of a sporting superstar will appear at the Inverness Book Festival. Gordon Burn covered the Blair-Brown prime ministerial handover, Glasgow Airport attack and the search for Madeline McCann in Born Yesterday.
Madeleine McCann: That’s entertainment…

Coco… you would be surprised to know how much I know about people on here. However one thing I am very good at is being discreet. I never tell.
……………………………………………………..
I should hope not! This is the beginnings of the Commentariat Party on Anorak.
We’ll have none of that tell-tale nonsense on here. This isn’t like the Blair Governance you know.
I will admit now that I used to be a prostitute who took various drugs and abused several men! I may have unwittingly defrauded and I may have commited heinous crimes when I was not feeling myself. But I am OK now!
And if any kids come knocking at my door saying I am their Mother - they are telling lies.
I have never given birth! That I can remember! lol But I was drunk for many years lol.

She would have been better off just saying he looked exactly like Bundleman.
However that in itself wouldn’t have added to her credibility.

Amaral’s words don’t explain why K wasn’t made an arguida on the first day of questioning.
The “gulp” moment usually comes on being caught out with an answer.
Maybe that happened here, maybe it didn’t, but there is I think something we are not being told.
Looks like we’ll have to wait a month before finding out more.

Not to mention the fact that this woman says she saw this man eight months before Madeleine disappeared, which would have been about September 2006 - how can anyone remember what somebody looked like after all that time?!
August 20th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
coolandcalm,
Yes, I think so. Although as witnesses they could not refuse to answer questions, certain questions could not be asked unless they were arguidos. But then they had the right not to answer them. Sounds like a vicious circle for the police!
August 20th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
I worry about Ms Hall’s eyesight.
August 20th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
and one has a face lol
August 20th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
why are the 2 photos even compared at the top ?
ones got straight hairr and no fringe, and the other is curly with a fringe !
August 20th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
P.S. I mean it takes a very long time to get serious work done, by the way - I wasn’t suggesting that this case isn’t deadly serious!
August 20th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Catalina… that is how I read it. That the PJ said they were making her an arguido so her lawyer advised her not to answer any more questions. Bit like being read your rights over here and in US?
August 20th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Just-me and Coco,
Actually, if we organise ourselves well, Anorak could help us to keep fit - I read a bit on here, then dash off to the kitchen and wash up, dash back to the computer, run to hang out the washing and back again to see what’s going on, whizz round with the broom and dustpan and then back to the computer, scuttle back to the kitchen to make some coffee, back to the computer while the kettle boils then rush off again to pour it out… I wouldn’t normally move at this pace, especially in a hot climate! The only problem is that a lot of my work is supposed to be done on this computer too, and it’s awfully difficult when I keep logging into Anorak every few minutes. Takes a very long time to get anything serious done!
August 20th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
C & C, then I certainly hope you get your wish. If there’s anything Florida could use more of it’s, a.) rain, and b.) discretion.

coco - I get nothing done when I’m on here, the washing piles up the grass grows etc etc, I need to employ someone till this case is solved.. omg.. could be a while!

Abraham Zapruder Says:
According to Amaral, in an interview with Espresso newspaper in July this year, (you can read it on the McCannfiles website) it was the police who decided to make them arguidos. In a translated summary of his book on the same website, it says
“Making them arguidos was inevitable due to the non-incrimination principle. Certain questions could not be asked if they weren’t arguidos. Even for their own protection.”
I have also read that Amaral says Kate stopped speaking to the police from the moment she was made an arguido, by which I understand that she refused to answer any of the questions, even those which sounded innocuous, and I presume that was on the advice of her lawyer. It is possible, of course, that the lawyer knew in advance what the questions would be and one or more of those could have made him gulp.

Just_me! Hi again! I have been working and doing house-work today as well as being on here!
I have seen more work in a sick-note than I have produced today.
Every time I work from home I get distracted by all you wonderfully clever creatures. It has to stop. I am addicted! But every day I learn something about computers - purely through all of you!
August 20th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
so what are we calling the new sketch? we have bundleman swarthyman eggman etc… or is it just Jim?
August 20th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Actually, as horrifyingly amateurish as it is, the sketch looks very much like the last Belgian photofit, excepting the latter has all the hair buzzed off (and there doesn’t seem to be any eyeliner!).
Of course, if this sketch has just been done, that could very well be on purpose, and both are fairly generic “dark men” anyway. Either could be a hundred guys in the factory I used to use in Porto.

ohmygo! ohmygod! ohmygod! I’ve been on here for fucking months and never knew you could do that!!!
I can click on brandonflours and it’s fab!
Coolandcalm …….. You have ruined my vision of the fabulous icy Marlene Dietrich image I had of you - but you look lovely and now I’ve seen you I think you need to stop having a dig at me! Truce?
I think you should stop picking on me because I have serious mental health problems and I don’t want to see myself as a case-study in your books. I wish you every success with all that by the way.You would absolutely die if you knew what I did for hobbies and work!
