Madeleine McCann: A New eFit, Selling Books And A Rapist’s Cover Story
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
DAILY MIRROR: “Madeleine McCann: Nanny’s new sketch echoes picture of kidnapper”
That’s the picture on the left. For wont of name, we’ll call him Cool.
This is the shadowy figure seen lurking in the bushes outside the flat from where Madeleine McCann vanished. And the woman who confronted the straggly-haired stranger eight months before is convinced he is the same man family friend Jane Tanner spotted carrying a child in pyjamas the night Maddy disappeared.
The man Jane Tanner says she saw is also on the left, for comparison purposes. They could be twins.
Despite telling police, British nanny Margaret Hall was not asked to help with an artist’s impression. Now, thanks to the Daily Mirror, a sketch of his face can be seen for the first time.
The Daily Mirror is on the case. It’s track record is im-pecc-able.
Margaret Hall added: “My description of the man is very similar to that of Jane Tanner’s. He had long hair but it was quite scruffy and straggly looking. He had said ‘no’ in English but he was not English because of his skin colouring. He looked more Portuguese than anything.”
DORSET ECHO: “Rapist gets 13 year sentence”
A FORMER Burger King manager has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a girl and 16 counts of sexual assault over a period of seven years. Ehmad Alguet, 44, of Esmonde Way in Canford Heath, Poole, was found guilty by a majority verdict of 10 to two on each of the 17 counts by the jury at Bournemouth Crown Court yesterday.
And:
He also told the court he had looked at illegal porn sites because he was trying to trace missing toddler Madeleine McCann.
THE GUARDIAN: “Edinburgh festival: When comedians attack - What is the most jaw-dropping example of audience harassment by a comic that you’ve come across?”
Capurro’s show this year is basically a big can of carbonated outrage, shaken vigorously and hurled into the crowd, with jokes about Madeleine McCann, paedophilia and Islam all present and correct.
The Guardian loves Capurro, the try-very-hard comic.
BBC: “Born Yesterday writer at festival”
An author who wrote last summer’s news as a novel and another who went in search of a sporting superstar will appear at the Inverness Book Festival. Gordon Burn covered the Blair-Brown prime ministerial handover, Glasgow Airport attack and the search for Madeline McCann in Born Yesterday.
Madeleine McCann: That’s entertainment…

Actually it should be The Forth Rail Bridge.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
Noseycow,
Please don’t leave the thread.
I am sure nobody is going to publish anything confidential about you.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Gandolf’s me old mucker, you are right it didn’t tonight.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:34 pm
Depends how many drinks you have had, does one forward and two back count as three?
August 20th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Dave……..me old carolina the Euston to Edinburgh don’t cross no Forth bridge…………
August 20th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
The Euston to Edinburgh made a surprise stop on the Forth Road Bridge tonight. It is being tenuously linked to an earlier incident in the Capital today.
What are the 39 Steps?
-agw the number of steps to the pub front door from Dunroamin, Harris.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
ps
This situation has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what caused last night.
As far as I was concerned it was over many months ago.
-agw and your response remains a gross libel. Just for the record, my memory of the incident seemed to indicate you were either misguided or worse. I protected you at every stage and you have just revealed far more than I would have done. Goodbye.

As I recollect the fukwit clown had to be put into intensive care by mods, as the clown had a total loss of the plot after crossing swords with Gandolf of the night……….what a total fukwit, and poster of comments that have no place in civilised moral society, definitely a total well named clown, but I do fancy her, it’s the Delilah conundrum……………….

For those of you who don’t know.
Many many months ago I can across a situation that I wanted to discuss with someone.
I wasn’t sure about the advisability of posting it on a forum so I had an email discussion about it with one of the mods.
The mod asked if I would be happy to let the story be published.
I ummed and rr’d said yes and then said no. It was not appropriate IMO. My job was at risk
Messages crossed I thought that I’d been clear with my final decsion but later that day I found the story in the forums section of this site.
I contacted everyone on anorak that I coud think of to get it removed.
It was a good ’story’ apparently and AGW was very upset that I would not confirm or deny it. Emails were exchanged.
End of story as far as I was concerned.
However AGW knows that if he posts it my job / career could be at risk
I can’t continue posting on a site where I feel my confidentiality is at risk.
i will miss you all (and agw wins _ I am frightened again by his vile responses)
-agw: Once again you chose to abuse me. Fine we both know the truth of the situation as do others. A small lesson for you. What you have just published is a libel.

noseycow
by blip i wasnt referring to your post, was referring to all the dramatics
August 20th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
clouseau
i really dont see the point
August 20th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
please not the dreaded moderation again
-agw I think not. It is a lifted repetitive posting and concerns phrasing I have taken deep exception to.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
evening all
Can yesterdays blip not just be forgotten agw, why drag it up again?
August 20th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
AGW
Is this the post that you are referring to as untrue?
noseycow Says:
August 19th, 2008 at 6:37 pm
But June my other posts after that one have been let out.
It seems selective which ones are going through. Is AGW controlling what appears now? Does Paul know?
I won’t bother you any more tonight - you obviousley have your hands full.
I have had my spats with a few posters and a few mods on this site, all have which have become dim and distant memories (with the exception of the very vile and frightening interchange I had with AGW). If there is anything we can do to help get things back to normal please let us know.
Good luck
Admin - I’m putting posts in moderation to see what’s going on and ensure I read them…
-agw. Indeed.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
agw
threatening again?
I thought that this site maintained the posters confidentiality.
Are you saying that it doesn’t?
I don’t know what is going on behind the scenes, but this situation is starting to sound like the site that can not be named. Didn’t one of their M&A threaten to release details of their posters aswell?
-agw It is not a threat. You have made statements which are untrue and and you know that statement to be true. Is not a threat, I am simply asking if you would like me to post the full facts. I am happy to do so. I have and always will maintain your confidentially. But I will reveal the full extent of just went on unless you apologise for your earlier statement. I made it clear at the time that the actions you were involved in were unacceptable and YOU choose to raise the situation in this column. The statement you made was untrue…quite simply really.

milk tray man is on my mind often - nothing to do with this case though
-agw: I repeat, I have been away and just caught up your posting re an exchange with me. I am happy to reveal all correspondence and the original story and sources..in full…this evening if you would like me to.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
Chenier! Dodgy sequence of events! Dodgy sequence of events indeed!
Milk Tray Man is on my mind whenever I think of the DNA stuff. James Bond job or what!
August 20th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
Chenier
Presumably the bits that have been released contain good and ‘bad’ bits for team mcc?
The bits I have read so far though have just led to further questions which do not seem to have been followed up, and its very confusing.
Is it ‘normal’ practice for some information not to be made public? On what grounds would that decision be made? They have published information that involves other people and the details of their input already so they don’t seem to be ‘governed’ by any privacy laws.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
Just_me! I am still hysterical over the Gerry Glitter that you did! I have just showed it to my friend and we are choking with laughter. I’ve got tears running down my cheeks! Fucking fabulous! Made my day! X

Nosey
I’m not sure just how much stuff is still being withheld, and I’m not sure how much stuff has been printed in media other than our own.
Certainly there have been sensationalist bits, like the disintegration of the carefully crafted perfect marriage image, which have made it to our media, and certainly there have been sensationalist bits printed elsewhere, though not in online editions, for fear of libel writs, which have not been published here.
But I would still pay folding money to see those 50 pages on the DNA reports. And the other 30,000 pages as well…
August 20th, 2008 at 6:23 pm
Or banging your head on the floor and being knocked-out cold!

ouch that hurts more than hammer on thumb…
August 20th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Nail on head Noseycow! Nail on head!
August 20th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
THe bits that have been release (broadly speaking) are the bits that the McC’s wanted. So perhaps they asked for them?
Re: Kate refusing to answer -
she was questioned first and was back home with G before he was questioned. Make of it what you may.
If there is a controller in a relationship they wouldn’t ‘allow/trust the one being controlled to answer questions. IMO
_agw I have been away and just caught up your posting re an exchange with me. I am happy to reveal all correspondence and the original story and sources..in full…this evening if you would like me to.

Peter Mac may have something here! ‘Has Clarrie said anything about the “thing from the swamp”. It does remind me of a monster from those lovely old B ‘horror’ movies. Had he got webbed hands and feet I wonder. Could be a give away.’
