Gordon Brown went to Afghanistan and spoke to the troops there, conveniently on his way to a 5 day 'all expenses paid' party at the Olympics in Peking, where he will see very little proper sport, but will experience the end of Olympics 'ceremony'. Just as well really, since he won't be around for 2012. David Cameron went to Afghanistan and spoke at length to the troops there.
